We find out the baby's gender tomorrow at 10:30 am!! Anyone want to guess what "it" might be?

Here's some info about me that may help you use old wives tales to encourage your guess:

1) I'm small...and carrying high

2) I don't have much heartburn

3) Conceived in August

4) Due in early May

5) I have one sister, DH has one brother

Any takers?

I think anyone who is able to survive working in a UPS shipping hub during the holiday season is entitled to leave their tree up however long they need to. (Frankly, I'm surprised the spectre of PTSD didn't prevent you from putting up a tree at all! But this is your first year...) My neighbors have a plan for leaving their Christmas lights up all winter. They sting mostly white lights, and then add separate strands of all red and all green. They have lit wreaths on their windows from about Thanksgiving to Epiphany... then they put lit hearts on their windows, and only use the red and white lights for another month or so... then they put lit shamrocks in the windows and stick with green and white for about a month. Theoretically, this is lots of work, but they are only changing out the indoor componants during the cold months... For your sake, I hope the tree in question is artificial!

Thanks for all the comments and information! I've been overwhelmed with other business the last few days, but I got to look around for some information last night and found some very similar pieces through ARTFACT.com. Tomorrow I hope to get to the library. TrueGrits -- It's interesting that you say you have an almost identical secretary, as we spied one very similar at our neighbor's home down the street. It's very odd to come face to face with something so similar to something that you know (Or thought!) is in limited supply in this world. Although I guess this was a very popular style, given all the examples I've seen. Also, interestingly enough, last night on Ebay, I found an auction from January for the exact same book we have that dates to 1695. It sold for only $1500 or so. :( It's actually the one peice we've considered selling, but not at that kind of price! It's truly an amazing book by Otavio Scarlatini; here's just a portion of the description: "describing and depicting the human body in its details and in its entirety in every aspect conceivable, from the anatomical, rational, moral, mystical, political, legal, etc. point of view, and furtherrmore as used in emblems, morals, mystics, proverbs, language symbols, prognostications, pictures, statues, history, rites, reflections, customs, numismatics, dedications, signatures, literary allegories, epitaphs, fables, wonders, medicine, dreams, etc." Can you imagine? We got our copy from DH's brother who got it from his father who was a well-known editor in NYC in the 70's. He apparently got it from a writer friend in lieu of payment for something (?)...don't remember the details, but as I recall, there's a typed letter in the book. Or maybe that's to the writer from whomever he got it from? Dunno... Oh, Sally, it's dreadful! I posted above (March 4) that the desk was covered. I had it cleaned off for Christmas (and in the process misplaced some books I had listed for sale on Amazon, thereby losing two sales), but stuff has made its way back to the desk. Most of the stuff is task related, but looking around me this morning I see on the desk a laboratory hot plate, a car funnel, a rawhide dog bone, and a bra! I'm a disgrace . . . which is something like what my son told me last night when he saw the desk--or, rather, what's on top of the desk. In the past, whenever I've taken a job outside the house it has always made me more efficient about getting things done in the house. Deadlines and the necessity to keep some momentum going, I guess. But I started a job in December, and this time it has had the opposite effect; I'm having a very hard time keeping up with the clutter. Since I'm the only person who lives here, I know the stuff isn't accumulating while I'm at work, but that's the way it seems. Incidentally, I'm right handed. The trackball was on the left because I switch sides from time to time to prevent more carpal tunnel issues. (However, my new job threatens to give me CT problems.) One nice thing that was added to my desk since the above picture was taken is a very large, sleek, and beautiful Canon scanner. I forgot to answer the other question...I was 31 in August (Chinese calendar says girl). :) I would like to have a boy...but I'll take a little girl, of course, too! We've agreed on a boys name, DH says he dislikes every girl name out there, including all the ones I like.

So tell DH to adjust to the fact it could and probably will be (in my guess) a girl. I was going to check the Chinese calendar, but now I don't have to. Those pictures don't show me a thing, honey. LOL There isn't even a baby bump yet. You can see your pelvic bones still. Maybe when your 7 months, it'll show up more.
Just think, your almost 1/2 way, right?

I'm an old wife, so my tale is...

...if you're carrying high, as in when you started to show you could zip your jeans and the buldge was mostly above the waistband, then you're having a bouncing baby boy.

If not, then you're having a bouncing baby girl! LOL

Based on the pictures, I am not convinced you're pregnant. I believe it because you tell me, but I need a "real" LOL belly to really guess the gender. You sure are purdy.

No cravings!! It's been pretty normal, I didn't get sick either (I'm lucky) :) 12 hours to go!

I'll say girl!! Especially since you don't have names picked out!! ha ha That's usually the way it works! Everyone except 2 people (DH and co-worker) told me I was having a boy, and out popped Olivia!

OMG-You look great, I can't believe how tiny!! You would be SCARED to see how big I look already! But I saw a lady yesterday who was 1-2 weeks further then me and she looked HUGE, so everyone is different!

We got our results yesterday, but in a sealed envelope! We plan to open on Christmas Day. And yes, i have already held the envelope up to the light, but couldn't see a thing! lol!! But I dreamt the letter said boy last night (and it also said cheese pizza-lol lol lol!)

I'm glad you are still feeling good!! We'l have to set up a playdate this summer!

I was all set to say "girl" but I can't even tell you're pregnant! My "baby" is 19 and I look more pregnant!

And Teresa, I'd be steaming that envelope open! There's no way I could hold that info in my hand and not rip it open!
