Thought I drop in and Wish you all a Merry Christmas!

I know we have new ones here and do not know me,but I used to post hear.With little time on my hand and a very messed computer[so slow] I just gave up trying to post.I do read often.

Just a update on those have written and asked about Savannah that was in that terrible accident.They gave her no hope as some will remember and she stayed in the hosptial on life support,but she pulled thur with many prayers and well wishes from you all.She did have another surgery this week to remove her gallbladder.She wrote and said she was feeling better with little pain now.

Savannah's sister and my daughter Ashley are best friends.

In fact when my SIL had her cancer surgery about 4 months ago Chelsea came to the hospital to be with us all and we thought that was so sweet knowing what her family has gone thur,but that is just like Chelsea and her family even what they have gone thur they always love to help others.

A update on Greg my hubby he is still works very hard.We are still selling wood and he has his lawn care business .We sell wood in the winter times when his yard business is slow.He also works at a local lime plant.

Sadly to say he got burnt on his neck last nite.I can not believe how the lime can get on his skin and make big blisters.They use vingar to wash it off.

But Greg is so tough and the nurse dr him up.

Ashley[now 20] my one and only child still working at Petsmart.She works tomorrow on Christmas day going in to clean cages and feed the animals.She is also learning to be a groomer.As some knows Ashley's heart is always been working with animals.She had a job at walmart and hated it.I knew she rather be working with animals,so thankful she got a job at petsmart and going on 2years now she has been there,.I know I am bragging on her but she gets up and goes in at 5am.As a mom I have to say I am proud of her.

Below I will try post a pic of Ashley and her boyfriend,.Rob.He is going to school to be a nurse.He was thinking about going to the police academy to be in the law enforcement.Not sure what he has decided to do.

It's so nice to hear from you, Catlady. I've been wondering how your are, specifically, how your legs are. I'm hoping all is well with you. Sorry about your dh and I hope he is feeling better today. Your dd seems a lovely girl, and likewise her bf a very nice boy. Merry Christmas to all of you!

It snowed last night so everything is a blanket of white for Christmas day. I feel a little guilty, but I don't think it is too deep so I'm not going out with the snowblower til tomorrow. I'm the caregiver for my Mom, and it is just the two of us this year. We open presents on Christmas Eve, so we had a lovely night with the house decorated, the fireplace going and the tree all decorated and lit. Then about 11:00 pm as I was settling into bed but not asleep yet, I heard this funny thump and a tinkling. Uh oh, that can't be what it sounded like! Sure enough, go out to the living room and the tree had fallen over. Didn't fall out of it's stand, just tipped the stand and flopped over! Luckily only one ornament broken. Unfortunately, it was one of my favorites, my duck bell. If you are now scratching your head and going, "Duck bell???", it has a bell for a body with a duck neck and head on top and duck feet for the clappers. Very cute. Fortunately I think I can glue it back together. And I was very relieved that none of the older (my grandmother's and mother's) ornaments were hurt. Anyway, just stood the tree up again, filled up the water and everything seems back to normal today. We just had a simple dinner (lunch?) today, turkey and cranberries, asparagus, rolls and peppermint ice cream. And just for snacks, of course, we have 3 lbs. of See's candy and assorted cookies, fudge and other goodies in the house. Should be enough to last for awhile! Forgot to mention the wine we had with lunch, which will make Mom nice and sleepy. So I figure she will plop herself down in front of the football game and promptly fall asleep, thus giving me a restful Christmas afternoon to read or shop on the computer - my sister-in-law gave me an Amazon gift certificate. Which reminds me, Mom gave me a moth orchid for Christmas. First orchid I've tried, so anybody who has any tips, send them along. Also growing paperwhites this year (usually do amarylis). They are just starting to bloom. Look lovely. However, they are supposed to have a wonderful fragrance and while they do have quite a strong smell, I'm not so sure yet that it's wonderful. Maybe it will improve as they open more, or maybe I will get used to it. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to all of you and yours.

Merry Christmas to all! It’s Christmas morning here and the forecast is for 93F. Better than last week’s 107F :-). Yes I’m roasting a turkey breast just for DH and I, I love turkey and leftovers. We had the big family gathering last night, BIL and SIL did the turkey but it was dry and the gravy was weird (had mustard in it) :-( I don’t think they really understand turkey, SIL is from Czech Republic and BIL is one of those who can’t be told anything because he’s read a book about it. They seemed to find the Christmas hosting exhausting so with luck next year it will be at our other SIL’s place. It can’t be mine as DH’s uncle is in a wheelchair in a nursing home and getting a special wheelchair taxi to bring him for the 200km round trip isn’t really a possibility. I did the ham and the desserts. I was pleased with the ham which I got from my local butcher who smokes his own hams and bacon, both of which are delicious. I saw in the paper he was awarded third in the state competition for hams by the Australian Pork Association. I think this is amazing considering that most of the producers are in the city. Desserts were a lemon custard tart (a firm family favourite), Eton Mess made with fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, and brownies. I had baked and frozen the brownies earlier in the week and realised yesterday morning that in the rush to pack up for the trip to the city I had forgotten them :-(. Yes, I made the 200km round trip to get them, it was easier than trying to bake another batch at DH’s culinarily limited apartment. But worth it as DH’s nephew scarfed down three as soon as they hit the table :-). Today just DH and I will have turkey and gravy, bread stuffing and sausagemeat stuffing with cranberries, Brussels sprouts -possibly with bacon (haven’t decided yet), tartiflette, and Portuguese egg tarts for dessert.

Hi Judy! Glad to hear you are doing ok. Sorry about Greg, hope he will soon heal and not be feeling any pain. Ashley looks so pretty and grown up. I'll think of her everytime I take Rufus to our Petsmart to be groomed. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hope you'll soon be back on here joining in the KT with the rest of us.

Hi Judy, so good to see you posting again.

I hope Greg's burns are healing well. You didn't say how you are doing? I believe you were having problems with your legs. Hope that is better.

Ashley is quite a grown up beautiful young lady now. I'm glad she has a job that she loves, and hope she will stay with it. Nice looking young man, too.
