I've seen, many times, a lone Gnu (wildebeest) resting on the ground...maybe even every day lately. I worry about him/her. The last time I saw any Cape Buffalo in any of the waterholes was over Xmas, when one ended up being killed by a pride of lions. That was at the Nkorho water hole. They are really incredible animals.

I believe hippos are nocturnal as the only time I've seen them is at night and they are usually in the water too! The first time - (only the one camera at that time...) I thought they had brought a huge boulder and placed it in the pond - then it moved!!!! lol

I saw them too!!! Last year, I watched Africam ,Phoebe the hummingbird and the WV Eagles. Well, the newly widowed male couldn't make up his mind between 4 females and never had any eggs and Phoebe lost two little ones within a week of fledging to a crow and then lost two more eggs to probably the same crow within weeks. She took some time off now that it is getting hot in Irvine, CA. Lots to watch at Africam and hopefully the cameras will be up and running to see the three cheetah cubs born May 2nd... I have a grandson I have full time that loves to watch all of these - he has ADHD...

Been watching it here for years. Great site.
