Oh Cait, I loved that story. I was waiting for some creature like Golum to come slithering out! ( or some mention of "slugs from the hood" ) Lol I can understand the satisfaction of stepping on those nasties! I remember feeling that a long time ago with cockroaches. UGH.. So glad to have moved from that place! Slugs.. shiver.... once my DH called me outside to show me something, I went, only to step barefoot on a slug, it squashed up in between my toes. That is what he called me out to see "the biggest slug he ever saw" !! Now that moon was something to see. I love yours and Sandy's photos! I was driving to work looking at that moon too. But I had a nervous feeling about it as I knew it would make my patients crazy.. and it did ! What a weekend that was! I snapped a photo of the moon in October, while sitting at my computer reading this forum!! ( I just opened the window and from my chair snapped this : That orb in the sky is sure a thing to behold! Just wanted to post an update. I got Penelope from Palatine. Only time will say, if this experiment would work, i.e. growing shade tolerant roses in shade. I honestly can't say how much sunlight it receives, but I can affirm that it is less than "part shade", more or less dappled shade. The shade is due to a sprawling Manitoba Maple and a dense cherry tree, which I hope some day to have pruned. However by September, Penelope should be receiving much more sunlight... The plant for the time being is around 3 feet tall with 3 main branches. We had a lot of rain in June (every 2nd day) and rather cool temperatures. To my surprise, several weeks ago, I saw flower buds on all branches. And she flowered on July 1st. This is one of the most beautiful roses, I've ever seen. So many variations going from the most delicate pink to pure white. For the time being there is a very light fragrance. If I recall well, my Felicia didn't have much scent the first year. Monica, Thanks for the prompt reply, and I will try Wave Plumbing. After I posted last evening I went on the net and found a place or two. I found a Vent/Heater for $180, but Vent/Heat/Light was around $230.00. You must have the Vent/Heater product for about $170. Thanks also for the ballpark on the custom cabinet-making. I understand your chagrin over the heated floors. I am currently battling that decision and I am gun-shy because of Flyleft's and Codnuggets' recent problems. I was also strongly considering the Thermasoft product because, with the current sale, it was coming in at about half price of SunTouch. Always a decision! And I, too, am laughing out loud at a 1-month projection. However, I am pretty close to the end, though (after a nearly 4-year lay-off in the project's completion). However, 4 years ago, I didn't know about heated floors, Kerdi showers, heated towel racks, and I thought the Nutone vent was as good as the Panasonic. I've got all you "loverly" new friends on this forum to thank for that! So how many more months do you think I should add to my projection, Grammuffy? :)) I'm also concerned about not driving my "good-guy" contractor and his workers to drink with all my "new-fangled ideas" about Kerdi and stuff. No contractor in sunny, humid Houston ever even heard of heated floors! I would just like the luxury of keeping my little footsies nice and toasty on the 3 days of winter we have each year. Guess it could depend on the yellow like bleigh mentions. It's usually green that's a bad choice for bathrooms because certain greens cast off sickly reflections and tints the atmosphere in an unflattering manner. Never really heard of yellow doing that. Usually yellow walls are partnered with the warm glow of incandescent bulbs and the combo makes for a cozy atmosphere that favors skin tones. Just be careful choosing a yellow wall color. The Yellow Hue portion of the color racks notoriously house all the colors that come out looking shockingly lemon instead of buttercream.
