Christmas day in South Texas ~3 pics~

It was a beautiful, sunny day here and the twins had lots of fun with their new jeeps that Santa brought them! DS #3 climbed on the hall rolls to throw the football with my other two sons who were sitting on the tailgates with DIL, Jammer and I. BJ (DS's blue heeler) didn't pay much attention to the jeeps. He was more interested in playing football.

Preston tried to avoid collisions, but Madisyne was enjoying tham way too much. She likes speed and excitement, while he is more careful.

They spent some time riding together and we had fun watching her pointing and giving directions to her brother. LOL A regular back-seat driver.

Jim, I did not get the miracle grow, but bought the 10-20-10 fertilizer from the feed store for $9 for a 50lb bag. I will spread it next week. The daylilies took all my time this week. I washed them with "Plant Wash". I can hardly stand up, and my right knee is twice the size of my left knee. My dark yellow brugmansia looks like it getting ready to flush, my peach doesn't even have a leaf on it. I will take pictures when we go down 3-15th, I will have wonderful picutes to share. Whoa! I'm ambling in a bit late on this swap. My horse pulled up lame and dab-nabbit, I couldn't make the round-up sooner. A litte Texas spirit from Bubbe here! (No, I'm not drinking yet). I love the regional stuff too. How excellent are those condiment dishes and the deliciousness to go with them? I love these swaps, so original, hardly an item repeated ('cept maybe a weeny prong or martoonie glass). I am loving the Fonda San Miguel Restaurant book. Terrific package, Brenda. I thought I might post a few more pics since we are about 98% complete. We still have to do some landscaping/planting and such and the "rock guys" are supposed to be putting a larger stone(boulder) on top of the jump rock. We are happy with our spray deck and the color looks great with our coping/tile choices. The water color really "Pops" with the natural colors around it! Again I would like to say how pleased I am with the Blue Granite! It truly makes a beautiful water color. Oops! I just realized that I didn't have the scuppers on! Will have to add another pic with those running!

No gorgeous table pictures here! The table cloths (unironed and wrinkly) were thrown onto the tables about 30 minutes before we ate. One of these years I'll get the table decorated in advance :) I'm always a little too ambitious with the menus. Roast Goose with Chestnuts, Prunes and Peach Brandy (the gravy was fabulous) and a Roast Turkey breast with make-ahead giblet gravy, individual mince pies, Pommes Duchesse potatoes, two stuffings, pots de crÃÂ¨mes for dessert, and more and a few things I never got to, too. This year was just about perfect! Very happy day, because I had a crowd to feed. Loved seeing the pictures. Mlweaving_Marji - definitely know the feeling when the kids AREN'T there. Isn't it nice when that day is over, when it's like that? (P.S. I've been eyeing the brussel sprouts recipe too).

Cute pics! Our Maddie sounds like yours in her Jeep. She loves to go fast and tear around too!
Gosh the twins must be 3 now? Or am I wrong? I remember them being born but it seems more like 2 years ago and not 3...

They are soooo cute MaryAnn. I love the expression on Preston's face in the last picture he is really concentrating. I can't believe how big they are already.

What a perfect day for Jeep riding. They sure are getting big MaryAnn.

How I long for the jeep days again. It seems as though it was only a couple years ago DS was zooming around in his yellow toy jeep. When he started driving in a real car I believe thats when I started getting lots of white hair above my ears. So seeing your little GK's zooming around really brings a smile to my face! These days will bring them plenty of joy.

nodakgal, you're right about their age. They turned 3 on the 23rd.

Steph, the power is in the foot pedal and there is a stick shift for changing from reverse to forward (2 speeds). There is also an FM radio and dash lights and a voice that says "back up" when they touch something in front of them. After they backup a little bit the voice will tell them to go forward. LOL They are really cute. Oh yes, they also have seat belts.

Mary Ann, I can't believe they are 3 already!!! Gosh time flies. Those Jeeps are just too cool! I love the last picture and that Madisyne was the navigator! Too funny!
