The twentiO's....2000,2001,2002......?

Tweens? twenty-teens = tweens?

The 2's.....2-10's.2-20, etc..

I wasn't thinking we'd have to work the 20 into it. We all know we're in the 21st century. When we say "the sixties," it's understood that we mean the 1960s.

I wonder what the people of 100 years ago called their decade.......?

"Back in the two-thousands" is what I say for the year 2000

I guess we have to spell each decade out....."in the two thousand and tens"

If it was good enough for the 1900's it should be good enough for us. although no one will know what you are talking about.

When we were in the 80's they said the 80's would be know as the health years and If it is, the 80's are never ending.

I sort of think of it as the "LOOser" decade because the quality of our country has gone down so much.

Oh, I do agree with the looser thing. No one cares anymore, they just do a job for a paycheck. You can't get help with anything. I could just go on an on..........

I agree with marie cate - the aughts! That is what my dad called "zeroes" when he was trying to help me with my math homework. LOL He was born in 1907. It worked for me then. Why not?

The looser decade when IRAs tanked and white collar criminals made off (or was that Maddoff?) with your nest egg, the twin towers of the World Trade Center were destroyed, we got entangled in wars having no end, a recession matching the Great Depression ensued (but, no one dared to say it) and a fresh crop of politicans were hatched. Yeah, it was a looser decade and I'm glad its behind us.

Oh, I believe that years 2001 through 2010 is the first decade of the 20th century. [Let's see: year 1 through 100 is the first century assuming that there was no zero-th yesr, year 101 to the end of 200 is the 2nd century, so it follows that years 1901 to the end of 2000 are in the 20th century, or was that the 19th ?]

Seems to me the year 2010 will be known as two thousand OMG, OMG.

how about double m's? decade of fear and caution...sure would like to see them turn it around to hope and future...i'm so darn tired of being cautious all the time...

As for the double-dealing ... while Madoff as an individual is more apparent, he didn't cause the Fed. gov't. to throw in all of that money that they didn't have, to avert having a financial debacle, which they say would have resulted had they not bailed out the Big Banks that were "too big to fail".

And they're even bigger now, as some of the former biggies disappeared.

It'll take years (more likely decades) to pay off that huge debt ... that we're loading on to the backs of our kids/grandkids.

Madoff went to jail ... his son just committed suicide ...

... but the guys in the Big Banks ...

... figure that, instead of at least getting fired, or, more deservedly, going to jail ...

... they not only get to keep their jobs ...

... but they have a right to those huge year-end bonuses!!

Let's point the finger of blame where it belongs.

But - the market didn't slaughter them - they got bailed out.

And you taxpaying guys are getting stuck with the tab.

I figure that I have some cause to bi!ch - my shares in a stable Canadian bank (more heavily regulateed) went from over $100. to about $40.00 ... but, having about half way recovered ... they're still afloat.

Isn't it 2K? Or does that just refer to the year 2000? I have heard it referred on the radio as 80's, 90's, and 2K when speaking about music. I would think the next decade would be called the teens.
