Chateau Montebello, Quebec, where we spent the weekend. Largest log structure in the world, built in the 1930's. This is the huge lobby. Impossible to get it all in one shot. Great weekend!!

Lovely, Casey! The great lodges of Canada are all awe inspiring.

Not a great picture...copied and pasted it from today's newspaper, but you get the idea. The caption with it says: It's not what you think - While this certainly looks like a school bus, it is actually a fuel tank for the school buses at the Fullington Bus Garage in Houtzdale. Terry Welker of Clearfield is the Fullington maintenance manager and he came up with the design idea for the tanks. Fullington has bus garages in Clearfield, Philipsburg, Houtzdale and Hollidaysburg and all of them have similar fuel tanks. (Photo by Terry Whetstone)

How pretty is that? Beautiful fall colors on that flower. Mums are tough. I had one in the flower beds that the deer wouldn't leave alone so I stopped taking care of it because I am giving up on flowers and am going to plant something else out there next year that deer don't like. The mum dried up completely and I thought it was dead. With the first rain, it greened up and is now standing tall and healthy. Because it tried so hard to live, I'm going to dig it up and put it in a pot. It can live on the deck safe from the deer for the rest of it's life.

Lynn, if your winter is like ours, we had a whack of snow last year (drivers stranded for several "days" on the highway, to no snow at all yet.

Gorgeous lodge! Lynn, you must live in rural PA--like me.

This is Grimmy, another of our cats from the past. My daughter Jill chose him from the shelter because of his "lion face." She named him Grimmy after the dog in the cartoon "Mother Goose & Grimm."

Casey, your bf's company is really cool to have the party at a place like that. Or a party at all! lol so many don't have anything to show appreciation to their employees. It is absolutely gorgeous.

Casey, what a beautiful lodge, especially decorated for Christmas. How fun and memorable to stay there. It reminds me of the Yellowstone Inn in Yellowstone National Park where we stayed once.
