My front foyer, contrasted and compared with the foyer shown on the cover of this book, "Colonial Style" (by Treena Crochet. My house is 1925 Colonial Revival. The house in the photo is a 19th Century TRUE Colonial.

Love your house, Rosemary. It's interesting to see the difference between painted trim and natural wood trim. I'm always thinking of painting our trim but Ron likes the natural.

I'm curious. My browser...IE8...delays...or won't open at all...Karen's "Tiny Pic" photo storage site whenever I access this photo thread. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem...whether it's my browser or Tiny Pic or this particular Garden Web page?!?!?! I'm a daily reader of BITSTOP and never have the problem on your web site, Karen. It's just here. Hmmmmm Strange!

Karen, your pigeons look just like our pigeons in Southern California - except colder!

Carol_in_california, we get the white-crowned sparrows in Pasadena, too. I always enjoy them because they scratch in the dirt like chickens do.
