My Christmas tree, gifts are all wrapped (many of them have to be delivered, they're not all for us!).

Karen, I once asked you how you got your colors so vivid and you told me that a UV filter (I think) helps. Do you use a UV filter on all your shots, outdoor only, indoor only. You also have a great camera, which I don't, cant justify that kind of expenditure for the amount of photos I take, but I'd like the few I do take to be the best they can be. Mare

Thanks! Those pictures are from a few years ago, all but one have passed on now. Woofman Jack is the reindeer ... Rick found a little set of antlers at a yardsale the summer before, and glued some padding and ties onto them so Woofman could wear them. The yorkies are Scrappy Doodle, Bugsy, Pebbles and Rocky. Bugs is the only one still with us. The yorkies kept hopping out of the sleigh while I worked to get just the right shot ... we had to finally put their harnesses on, and then Rick ran twine through the harnesses and roped them into the sleigh! You can see from their expressions, they were NOT so happy about that. LOL. And yes, at one point we had nine dogs, but are down to just six now. We're trying to let attrition drop the numbers, but it's hard not to adopt another one (or two or three LOL). With the economy the way it is, there are just so many at the rescues that need homes.

The second day of backpacking. Clear, calm, and cool. An ice cold stream feeds Grace Lake. Fog was forming just where the cold water was flowing into the lake. In 10 minutes the air had warmed enough that the fog was gone. In the right place at the right time, and with a camera.
