Tater tot casserole?

There are 10,001 recipes for this--lol. But the majority of the reviews I read say it's bland. Does anyone have a 'tried and true' recipe? TIA

I just found this one and it looks great. take a look at the page for a pic.

Broccoli Cheddar, Chicken and Tater Tot Casserole

2 small cans cream of chicken soup

2 small cans cheddar cheese soup

1 1/2 Cups milk

8-10 Cups broccoli florets

2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded (bake or I throw mine in the pressure cooker)

1 teaspoon hot sauce (Tabasco or Chalula)

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper

1/8 teaspoon LawryÂs Garlic Salt with Parsley

1/2 bag Ore Ida Seasoned Tater Tots, frozen

1/2 Cup shredded cheddar cheese

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place soup and milk into a large pot over medium heat. Whisk until smooth and heated through, about 5 minutes. Stir in broccoli and cook for 5 additional minutes to soften slightly. Stir in chicken, hot sauce, salt, pepper and garlic seasoning. Pour mixture into 11Ã7 inch baking dish thatÂs been sprayed with cooking spray. Top evenly with tater tots and cheese; bake for 20 minutes then cover with foil. Bake for an additional 15 minutes with dish covered with foil. Remove from oven and serve.

This one's easy and has never failed me over the years.

Place hamburger chunks in baking dish (I generally use an 8x8)

Add salt, pepper and some diced onion.

Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Add can of drained green beans and drained can of Veg-All.

Cover with Tater Tots.

Mix can of Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup with 1/3 can of water and pour over all.

Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 minutes or until bubbly and browned.

Joe's Special 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 chopped onion 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, minced 1/4 to 1/2 lb sliced fresh mushrooms 1 10 oz. package chopped spinach thawed and squeezed "dry" or 1 lb. fresh spinach 3 eggs, lightly beaten salt & pepper 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano Brown meat in a large skillet on med-hi heat in a little oil to keep from sticking. Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms. Lower heat and cook until onion is soft. Add 1-1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, the nutmeg and oregano. Add the spinach and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Make a hole in the center of the mixture and add the eggs. Stir into mixture quickly and cook a couple minutes more until the eggs are done. Serve immediately. You can adjust this to suit your personal taste. More meat, more spinach less egg etc. Different seasoning. I have never really used a recipe. I had to Google to find one similar enough to mine to get measurements.

this is always a big hit... Chalupa This is a great recipe for large crowds.....I always make this when my family comes from California for a visit. 3 to 5 lb. pork roast (the cheaper the better) 1 lb dry pinto beans (cleaned) 2 pods garlic, minced 2 tblsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. ground cumin 1 tsp. ground oregano 2 small cans diced green chilies (these are mild) 1 tbsp salt 1 tbsp pepper Put all ingredients in a large pot and cover with water. Cook covered on a low heat. Add water as needed as beans will soak up the water. Cook for about 6 hours or until the roast falls off the bone. when done remove roast from the pot careful to remove all the bones. Chop up the meat and add back to the pot. Simmer with the lid off until thick (about 30 minutes) making sure to stir occasionally so it won't stick. Serve over a bed of Fritos and add the following: grated cheese lettuce onion tomato sour cream salsa guacamole. Leftovers make great burritos.

Classic Crowd-Pleasing Tuna Casserole 3/4 cup green pepper, diced 3 cups celery, diced 2 onions, diced 1/4 cup butter 3 cans mushroom soup 1 1/2 cups milk 3 cups shredded cheese 24 oz. noodles 3 cans tuna (9 oz, each) 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise 3/4 cups pimiento 1 cup slivered almonds (optional) Cook green peppers, celery and onions in butter. Combine mushroom soup and milk. Add with cheese to vegetables, stir over low heat. Cook noodles, drain. Combine with tuna, mayonnaise and pimiento.. Pour sauce over. Top with almonds. If you want to freeze it, do it at this point. Bake at 425 degrees for 1/2 hour. Serves 24. I have it down to a science now, but I freeze my family sized portions in ziplock bags and just thaw and dump into a corningware dish to cook. I also freeze the occasional really large casserole dish of this (maybe half the recipe), since we rarely have big crowds at our house. Enjoy. If you don't like tuna, this can also be made with leftover chicken or turkey.

This is a nice vegetarian entree from Lean and Luscious and Meatless Curried Chick Pea Casserole 1 Tb vegetable oil 1 1/2 c. chopped onion 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped 1 bay leaf 1 1/2 c cooked rice (white or brown) 1 1/2c cream-style corn 1 1-lb can chick peas, rinsed and drained 2 tsp curry powder 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1/4 c water Preheat oven to 375. Lightly oil a 2 qt baking dish or spray with nonstick Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over med. heat. Add onion, garlic and bay. Cook stirring frequently until onions are browed, about 15 min. Remove from heat and discard bay. Add rest of ingredients. Mix well. Spoon into prepared casserole. Bake covered 30 min. Makes 6 servings (197 calories, 6 g Pro, 5 g Fat, 35g carb, 280 mg sodium, 0 cholesterol) I usually serve it with Naan bread.

Forgot... if using regular ground beef, spoon out any grease you feel is excessive after the initial covered baking.

Sausage and tater tots

1 pound ground pork breakfast sausage 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese 2 cups milk 2 eggs 2 pounds tater tots
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and spread evenly in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Spread cheese over sausage.
In large bowl, beat together milk and eggs. Pour over cheese. (May be refrigerated overnight at this point).Top with tater tots.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes. Cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
