Not yet -my goal is to get it up the day after Thanksgiving.I have been doing a little bit everyday.I am having a hard time trying to figure out where to put everything in my new apartment.Much different than when I was in the house.Have so many things that all have special meaning and would like to be able to put all out.The only problem is there might not be any room for people(ha-ha).

We never took ours down! Course all we did last year was put lights on the 7ft palm tree in our living room. :-)

I had been wanting a smaller Christmas tree for a couple of years now, so the other day I finally broke down and bought one. It's white and is prelit with pastel colors. I love it!

We put up a real tree so it goes up on December 23 and comes down on January 6th (traditionally Old Christmas Day here in Newfoundland).

I don't put my inside tree up until the weekend before Christmas. Like it to look fresh and new, still, on Christmas morning. I really, REALLY hate going to someone's house over the holidays and seeing a tree with dust-coated ornaments because it's been up for a month.

If I had the time, I'd wait and put mine up Christmas Eve--like everyone always did in the 'old' days--when I was growing up in the 50's. But I always just have too much to do that day to worry about trimming the tree, too.

Usually put ours up around the 15th of Dec. or so.

Nope - don't like rushing the holidays.

Not yet. I can't decide which tree to put up this year. I have a big pre-lit tree up in the attic. It's a lot of work but looks nice. I could buy a live tree. They smell so good. Or I could get a small table top tree. They look so nice, not too much work. Still deciding... whatever I choose, it goes up two Sundays before Christmas. Must check my calendar.

No way. We get a cut tree, and it will go up about a week before Christmas.
I love the magic of about a 2 week Christmas season and decorations. Do it too early and it gets commonplace and boring.

I also don't like the idea of Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving....in stores or at home.

No, and I'm not putting one up this year. I'll get out a few other decorations, and the nativity scene, and call it good. The tree, then all the ornaments and decorations, is to hard to drag up and down the steps. Unless the kids decide they want to have it here at my house, I won't put the tree up this year.

Normally try to put the tree up closer to Christmas, but because we annually host a "help decorate our tree" we sometimes do it earlier.

We have a fresh cut tree in the family room and the artifical one in the living room along with our village. Which qualifies for city status now!

Unless our daughter and family decide to come, which would be either before or after Christmas, I won't be putting up a tree for just the two of us. We will decorate the yard like we always do and I will have a few decorations in the house.

I have an artificial tree and did not put it up last year. I was going to put it up early this year but I have an evil little kitty that gets into EVERYTHING. DS will arrive on the 17th and we will put it up then.

Ours isn't up yet but I am starting to think about it which will mean it will be up in about a week or so.

Celebrating Thanksgiving first! Will put up the tree the week after Thanksgiving.

Not that anyone said anything about our Christmas palm tree but I did want to mention that we didn't do a real tree because we were undergoing a home remodel last December. Holiday cards never made it out either for the first time in my adult life.

Glenda, you are sooooo smart!! Wish we were doing the same thing. I haven't decided about cards yet. It's very time consuming to write a little note on them all. Maybe I'll just cut back.

I'm putting mine up around Thanksgiving, I enjoy the feeling of the season..... or the memorys it held.

Mine stays up all year. It is huge and has soooo many decorations on it. Ole 'arthur has a good hold on my hands and knees so I decided 3 years ago to leave it up, I can enjoy it all year. It is in our formal living room and we seldom use it, so it is not in the way.

Nope, I don't do that anymore. I don't put up any Christmas decorations now. It alleviates a ton of stress. We go to DD's for Christmas anyway.

We're going to cut a real tree this year,so it's way too early to put ours up yet.
However I'm decorating branches set in a pot for the family room,so that may go up this week.

I usually put ours up the first weekend in Dec,but this year there won't be one at all,no decorations,zero,zip.I have 2 chemo treatments in dec,and i know i won't feel like messing with anything.I barely get one good week out of the month when i have just 1 treatment a month.Having 2,i can't even wrap my brain around it.

Oh well there is always next year!!

As much as I love the trees and Christmas I can't put it up any ealier than 2 weeks before Christmas. I used to love to get it up earlier but now I have way too many little hands here all day and I don't want to have to worry about it too soon. Ricky is fine, but Seth and Austin will be all over it! Then I have my cousin's little girl and another little boy that I watch, both 3 years old and he doesn't listen at all...a real handful! I don't want to get tired of it anyway...2 weeks is long enough for me! I love to get my living room back to normal asap!

Mine is still up from LAST YEAR! (hangs head in shame)

I am trying to out stubborn DH, and am losing (as MIL told me I would). We had a large holiday party last year and I did everything (I mean everything) for it. I told him I wanted help taking down the Christmas decorations and he said he would, many times. And never did. And I'm refusing to do it by myself. So there is a tree in the great room, a smaller tree in the dining room (in full view of anyone who comes down our driveway), a Santa doll and ornaments on a table in the foyer, and the top of the secretary is still decorated with fake lit greens and ribbon.

Honestly, I don't even notice it anymore.

My tree goes up around the 22nd or so, sometimes a few days earlier, and comes down New Years Day. My living room is too small to have a tree in it for longer than that. Sometimes I think that's too long.

I always outwait DH until he gets out the decorations.
We donated our fake tree (left over from his Mom who had it as long as I can remember (45 years) last year to a local church. Best thing I did all year!
We have a ceramic tree and a ceramic Santa plus a Nativity scene we boutht the first year we were married.
If I thought my grandkids were going to visit, I would get a live tree and decorate it with all our family heirloom ornaments. (Kids made salt dough ornaments with Tupperware cutters when they were very young.....the oldest kid is 43.) Plus the cotton rabbit that was on my MIL's tree when she was a baby. She was born is 1906.

I tend to do my inside first, then the outside Last year I bougt 2 sets of the Alpine tree (6 in all-ingraduate heights & placed them in each of my 6 front windows. Love the look-takes up less room & it looks like a mini forest of tree in the window..white lights, of course!
Opted to put my 6' blue spruce out front and am going to attempt to decorate with Flamingo's clear balls filled w/popped corn & tie onto the branches w/red ribbons,so they're showy during the day & white lit at night
I have 4 nice planters that will hold greenery aross the 28' in from with my 4 lighted big 12" sparkle balls atop the greenery sprigs.
Hectic week upcoming..helping w/20 centerpieces for a 91st birthday party. signing up for Medicare on Tues & star my eyedrops soon after for cateract surgery in my left eye on 12/01 and again 12/08 in my right eye. NO rest for the wicked, I guess! Not 1 bit of shopping started either...been so busy w/Ernie! He got home from rehab on Friday-seems to be doing fine.

No Way! I am usually still decorating my tree after December 25th LOLOL. Two years ago I put my tree up early in December and the stand broke and the tree toppled over and broke all my good ornaments.

When we were kids the tree was put up on Christmas Eve and the lights were put on. When we woke up in the morning the tree was all decorated and twinkly that it was magical. I tend to put my tree up the week before Christmas. Maybe it might go up earlier depending on how much people bug me about it. Then I will be lucky if it gets taken down before the end of January. LOL

Don't worry about your Christmas decorations Sue. There is a standing joke among my family and friends and I am always being asked "do you still have your Christmas tree up" LOL

I can't even stand to listen to Christmas music until the week of Christmas. Some radio stations are already playing it constantly. Way too early for me.
