We have started writing stuff down in a notebook, then checking things off as they get done.

Jan started writing her honey dew lists in a notebook and we could tear the page out when the task is done.......voila'...we now have a library

And grocery lists - it used to be if I made a list, just the act of having written the things down was enough to prompt my memory in the store. Now, I've gotta have that list, in my hand....:)

I don't think its anything organic going on, just that life is busy any more, there are more distractions in a typical day.

Sometimes I do, and I also make notes months ahead in my desk calendar--to tell myself where I put things I'll need then. Too often things disappear into "safe places." :-)

Yep. Mine's mostly shopping list - stuff I should get at a grocery store. Right now, that list is in my shirt pocket and printer inks have been added, 4 colors of 5 are needed. Want to get this stuff before the holiday.

The next item on the list is leaf guards for the rain gutters. I ran a test on one type last week and have rejected that one.

Notes? Ha! Went beyond that to a printed and framed schedule for chores to accomplish daily in order to thoroughly clean the house each week. It's not as if I would freely share that with just anyone, of course. We also keep a running grocery list; whenever something is running low, it immediately gets added. Even hubby and son have learned to yell, "The catsup is almost gone."

I set reminders up on my iPhone and on Outlook, don't know what I would do without them. Some business associates use Google as well, anyone tried it? I don't really know what it is.

YES! Not just notes... but they have to be where I can't miss them. LOL

Mostly they end up in the middle of the living room floor, clearly to be seen.

Things I don't want to forget to take along go in a tote bag, that gets hung on the front door knob.

Things I don't want to forget that occur weekly, monthly or yearly are in my desktop (computer) file. They pop up when I turn the puter on in the mornings.

I always have a grocery list going for the next trip. Also when I'm doing a company dinner (like today) I make a list of what I;m serving and what time each dish has to be put in oven, started on stove or taken out of fridge.

I write a grocery list during the week and if I am planning a meal I keep track of what I plan to fix, even though that can change. I seldom do any other kinds of notes.

Not generally. I'm not a note person. However, I have started writing groceries on a list as I need them. And when I have company, I will do as dotmom.

I do. When I was working and the kids were younger, I used to call the answering machine at the house and leave myself a message. I always said, "kids, do NOT erase this message" LOL!

Grocery shopping list pad on kitchen counter, which gets transcribed on Wegman's on-like weekly shopping list - gets printed out on shopping day.
Dry erase calender on side of fridge.
I have AOL on-line calendar that displays on both phone and laptop.

I have always been a note person! I can remember as a child, having pencil and paper on the nightstand in case I thought of something while in bed!

I have a dry-erase board on the fridge, keep notes in my calendar book, and I absolutely love "stickies"--a great little computer program where you can put colored "stickies" on the computer monitor. And if I want to keep the stickies permanently, I use my Snipping Tool to save them into my pictures or documents file, or e-mail them to myself.

I used to only use post-its but then I bought one of those old-timey-looking composition black and white books and try to use that. It is much easier to keep my thoughts in one place.

Yes! DH and I both do. Grocery lists, things to mail, things to do. Right now with Thanksgiving on the horizon, I have a list of stuff that needs to be done before everyone comes. Alongside it is my grocery list.
DH loves the paper sticky notes, There is often a bright florescent paper stuck to the corner of the counter with his list. That was he can't lose it.

I keep a grocery list and also use outlook calendar at work (that's been a life saver!). I really need to start doing that at home too.

I leave myself notes and make lists all the time. You should see my Thanksgiving list-thaw turkey, brine the turkey, stuff and cook the turkey, it goes on...

Always have. Right now, I have 29 yellow sticky notes stuck to my desk to remind me of various work-related things. I also have too-many-to-count pop-up sticky notes that show up on my computer screen to remind me of other things.

I've always found that physically writing something down, makes it a lot harder to forget.

Lynn, our manager swears by Google calendar, but it's a bit of pain to get everyone set up with it, so now he uses Outlook.
Google works great but you have to invite everyone if it's a communal calendar.

Yes I do, but have left them on the dinning room table along with my cell phone as I drive into town. Or put them in a safe secure place, never to be seen again. I make lots of sticky notes and try to clean them out often. As for birthdays etc, I use the Birthday Alarm program. You just program the dates and when to be notified. It is great! For birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

I do for appointments, I have missed a couple and don't want to do that again. I use the Gadget Calendar that came with my W 7 when I have an appointment coming up. The bright orange is a constant "in my face" reminder. LOL

Yes, I write myself notes and tape them to the window ledge over the kitchen sink. That's one spot that's up and out of the way and I'm sure to see them.

I venture to say there's only one room that doesn't display some form of paper reminder...the bedroom...and that's because I spend such little time there. Mirrors, kitchen appliances, TV screens, computer equipment, doors and even the coffee carafe are constant recipients of my post-its.

Sometimes I do Glenda...like last night just before I went to bed I remembered I was supposed to take a desert to church this morning. We had our church family Thanksgiving today. So I had to set out a big note to remind myself to make something first thing when I woke up this morning.

I made the Hershey's special Choc. cake with Choc. frosting. There wasn't a crumb to bring home...I didn't even get to taste it...lol

Oh goodness yes!! And calendar notations as well. So many dr. appts. for DH and I, and fortunately lunch dates and craft fairs with girlfriends. I wish I could find a little blackberry type thing that just has a calendar, so I can take it with me. DS is trying to get us to get an iPhone4, but it would cost way more with the internet than the Verizon phone we have now. I have a Mac Mini computer and an iPad; don't need to shell out more $$$ for the phone. Enough is enough.

I leave myself stickie notes on my computer screen so I can see them when I come home. I go to work early in the morning and if I have to call to make an appointment or something I attach a note to my key ring so I remember. I am a cook in a restaurant and if I want to take something along home from there I put my keys with it so I remember to take it even if it is in the refrigerator. Lots of times I have been asked why there are keys in the cooler.

Yes. Important things I am likely to forget require a note stuck to the door. I make grocery lists but there's only about a 50 percent chance that a list will make it to the store with me. Today I saw there was a movie on Hallmark based on a book I read a couple of months ago. I made a note and left it in front of the microwave. I came home from running errands, went to heat up some coffee and I saw the note just at 4:00, the time the movie started. I would have forgotten all about it without that note.

Like others on here I use Outlook online for my to do list, journal, appointments and update it before I go to bed and write down every place I went and what I did today on the calendar. For groceries, I use Harris Teeter's on line list and check off everything I need as I go along thru the week. If I am in a hurry I send the list to them and they will have it ready at the express line. I don't have to get out of my car. There is a charge for that but I honestly save money by not going in the store.

I don't like having to recall things in general. My memory is lazy when it comes to routine stuff. I can print out the calendar for the month now, past or present and take it with me in my purse. .
