I think this looks like a great line up! Marlee Matlin (Academy Award-winning actress who is almost completely deaf....Children of a Lesser God, etc) Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller fame, also hosted gameshow "Identity") Marissa Winokur (Tony Award-winning actress known for her performance as Tracy Turnblad in the highly successful Broadway musical adaptation of John Waters' film Hairspray) Adam Carolla (comedian, comedy writer, radio personality, television personality and actor) Kristi Yamaguchi (figure skater and the 1992 Olympic Champion in women's singles) Cristián de la Fuente (Chilean television actor who has gone on to make a name for himself in U.S. film and television) Monica Seles (former World No. 1 professional tennis player) Mario (R&B and pop singer) Steve Guttenberg (film and television actor, became known during the 1980s, after a series of starring roles in major Hollywood films, including Cocoon, Three Men and a Baby, Police Academy, and Short Circuit) Jason Taylor (NFL's first active player to be a participant) Shannon Elizabeth (actress, poker player, and former fashion model, came to prominence in the 1999 comedy film American Pie) Priscilla Presley (duh ;-)

DWTS ratings for that night beat both those for American Idol and The Voice. They were all down from the previous season `but DWTS was down only a tiny bit and their ratings were quite a bit higher than the other shows. I don't agree with the criticism of the producers going on and on about Amy's disabilities. I think that with the Boston bombings, returning soldiers with amputees, childhood accidents it is very important that we do understand that disabilities don't have to limit people in what they do or define them. I think that Amy and her tenacity (plus having to have a kidney transplant as well) show us that the lives of amputees and those with other disabilities must be respected and accepted. I don't think that always happens. Now the season with Chastity - that I thought was gratuitous BS and I didn't watch it.

Melissa won?! How cool is that? She's the one who hadn't won a mirrorball, wasn't she? They keep saying they're not in love. But then, Val said, this'll be a good dance to show our love last week. So who knows? Kelly's good, but she's nowhere as good as Shawn or Melissa. Melissa had one bad dance I can remember. The rest were stellar! Most of the dances this season were stellar.

I've been impressed and even inspired by some of the dancing on DWTS. However, I'm fully aware that the show is basically a platform for wanna-be fauxlebrities, Youtube "sensations", reality tv divas, LONG-past-their-expiration-date tv actors and train wrecks in need of rehabing their image to get exposure in order to extend their 15 minutes, while pocketing a TON of money.
