I know that we love so many different songs and types of music, but if you were going to a deserted island and could bring any CDs (and the CD player!!!), which three would you choose?

And mixed tapes/CDs DON'T COUNT!!!!! :-)

I have way too many to choose.

I like 70's stuff. Not so much disco stuff, but the bee gees are good once in a while.

My tastes usually go to John Denver, Dan Fogleburg, Carpenters, Beatles, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Carole King, Don McLean. Gordon Lightfoot,(just saw him on Friday) Stuff you can sing to.

I also like some cross over country. Lady Antebellum, Garth Brooks, some of his. Too many others to name them all

Rhododendron canescens - for the fragrance and overall good form. Rhododendron prunifolium - for the striking late blooms (mine is blooming now). Rhododendron maximum - for the foliage (I like the blooms too).

Here is a picture of my Henry Apples Dupree, Roxanne... This is what Diana has listed in her notes.... Henry "Apples" Dupree large creamy yellow named for the plumeria collector who found it. Big clusters, long lasting yellow and white, sweetly fragrant. The tree is a prolific bloomer. Henry originally thought was the tree named for Iolani which was a prize tree lost to borers back in the early nineteen eighties. The tree habit balanced, the season long, the inflorescence huge and fragrance sweet rose. 3+Ã¢ÂÂ bloom of a light shade of gold. The flowers appear in heavy clusters and have a sweet fragrance with hints of apple. Creamy white petal with bright yellow color toward center, nice texture, large to 4", wide petals and slightly irregular, smell like a good mixed of apple and jasmine. Flowers have a slight green tinge. During WWII, When a submarine departs its berth on the west coast and heads for the war zone the torpedo tubes are empty and all the torpedoes are stored in the Submarine and are armed just before being placed in the tube. On their trip through friendly waters the needed supplies are stored in the empty torpedo tubes. Henry stored several crates of apples in one of the torpedo tubes to be used on the long voyage in his cooking. One day before they entered hostile waters the torpedo mate decided he needed to test the torpedo tube, forgot about HenryÃ¢ÂÂs apples, loaded the tube with a test air charge and fired it. All of HenryÃ¢ÂÂs apples were projected out in front of the submarine with a big bang. As the submarine plowed forward through the hundreds of apples, they were hitting the sides of the submarine and bouncing along its side for the length of the submarine. From that day forward in the USN Henry was known as Apples Dupree. Scent is similar to the green apples which is fresh, yet sweet with a mildly sharp edge. Have a wonderful night!!! Laura

Gayle, now I know why I love you! LOL That I can think of, almost all of my favorites have already been listed. Here are some of the newer ones I didn't see anyone mention. SecondHand Lions A Good Year Something New Cider House Rules Older favorites Imitation of Life Beckett White Palace Caroline, I think you made me rent 84 Charing Cross Road. Absolutely loved that movie. Eliza Ann, it's a shame I have only very recently seen Dr. Zhivago in its entirety. So glad I finally did! If you haven't seen Beckett, you have missed a great movie with Peter O'Toole and Richard Burton. When last I checked, Neither Netflix nor Blockbuster had it because it was never released on DVD, only VHS. If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to send you a copy. Just send me postage.

Hi Here is an old pic of two phal orchids that were transferred to a roxburghii tree This was the first flowering after being moved . To the right is a pink barely visible in the center To the left is a coconut (maxillaria ) grown the old fashioned way in a pot lol Both are still hanging in there but don't flower anywhere near what they did in pots I've added several epiphyllums and a gloriosum philo plus a lady finger epi and some epi ferns since then The epi garden is coming along but I lack horizontal limbs but above this I have some Brassidiums that are actually doing better that in pots !! Also have a couple of fancy catts that were left over from repotting so far ,has done well but has not flowered as yet Sultry I'd like to see the pix of the Lotus also I have some old pix of my dwarfs but they are on color slides lol gary

Wow....I am really surprised by how many of you could actually pick just 3!!! I couldn't....but of the 3 there would have to be some John Denver....and other country/folk/soft rock of the 70's.

I guess my three favorite CDs are Patsy Cline's & Hank Williams' Greatest Hits, & Your Hit Parade-1941 (Ellington, Krupa, the Dorseys, etc.) I have almost a complete collection of years put out by Time-Life over a decade ago, but 1941 is my favorite.
