We all need to vent once in a while. You'll find plenty of sweet people here to try to boost your spirits. I'm sorry you have to work feeling so sick. Could you maybe take one more day and just pamper yourself a little? If not, I hope you have an easy day.

Hang in there.. thyroid problems can cause depression and the high cholesterol. It takes a while for the meds to kick in and then you should be feeling better. I have thyroid problems too and was feeling pretty low myself not very long ago. People don't really understand and I'm sure many thought I was just being lazy and not trying.

I am sorry you are so down and not feeling well to boot. Diabetes, high cholesterol and thyroid are things that can be dealt with. Lots of us have diabetes and you learn to live with it and eat properly. Cheer up things could be a lot worse that this. I hope you will be feeling better to go to your second job and that you are better soon. As others have said come here to vent and talk out your problems. We do care and want to help all we can.

A lot of us care about you and will pray for you. I've had diabetes since I was 12 and I'm 67 now. My thyroid was way down a while ago even though I was on drugs for it. My doctor increased the dose and put me on synthroid instead of the generic which seemed to help me a lot.

When I first feel the symptoms of a cold coming on I take Zicam and it really helps. There are several types of it now.

Just know that you are not alone. I am struggling also everyday and it seems I am not going to make it, so I know where you are coming from. Most people on the KT do not know how it is not having enough money to pay everything each week. I get so upset when I go to the grocery store and can only afford generic cheerios and milk to eat all week. I am not trying to make you feel sorry for me but just as an example to let you know I do know how it is. My son is in college and I cling to the hope that I can be there when he graduates. That is the only thing that keeps me going now. The way our economy is now the poor are getting poorer and the middle class are sinking down to poverty level. I feel for the little children who can't help themselves. My second job played out in May because of cutbacks and I haven't been able to find another compatible with my first. I've worked front office for a diabetic doctor for nearly 8 years now. There are drug assistance programs for lots of the medicines if you have no drug coverage, that maybe I can help you with. I was in a similar health situation a couple of years back. Things started to turn around when I got pills for my hypo-thyroid problem. I felt better, had more energy and now the diabetes is down to borderline, my blood pressure is normal. It took a while until everything fell in line, but you can do it.

As others have mentioned, your health problems could be causing your depression, or at least contributing to it.

When I had postpartum depression with my first baby, my doctor told me to push myself to do the things I used to love, even though I didn't feel as though I had enough energy or interest to do them. It really helped. So get out the sewing machine!

Also, a lot of depression comes from feeling out of control, and the best way to reverse it is to take some action to regain control. This is often hard, at least at the beginning, because when we feel down we have no energy, and the thought of initiating a change can be overwhelming. But the payoff can be huge. Even making one change to your diet could make you feel better.

First I want to thank all who are sending prayers my way.I am for the 1st time in 4 days able to see the end of the tunnel as far as my terrible cold, and was able to sleep most of the night. I did do as some of the suggestions as far as doing things even if I do not feel like it. I do need to go to the doctor and see if he can change my medicines. That is a starting point. I have a daughter and 2 grandboys that live here so that is also a concern with the way the holidays will play out. There is so much they need I feel I need to help them out.I just needed to get this cold gone to screw my head back on straight..

I feel so badly for both of you, imn2crafts and kathy813. There is a discussion about Blue Cross and health care in general in Hot Topics; I think an awful lot of people with good care don't realize how many people don't have it. Kathy, I'm really worried about you especially. Please, please speak to someone at a crisis center who can hopefully show you ways to possibly improve your situation. There may be options about which you are unaware that could ease your troubles. I do remember when you posted last and was hoping you would let us know how you are doing. Were you able to talk to anyone at all? Let's all hope this new president will be able to help, at least somewhat.

That's enough to take the starch out of any shirt.

It knocks the stuffing out of people, too.

Hope you're feeling a little better today. Please go see your doctor. He can change your meds if necessary; they may be causing part of this. Please make sure to mention the depression to him. Many people don't realize how serious it can be. You may need an anti-depressant. I work in mental health & I've been there with depression personally. Medication really made a difference for me. Please check back in & let us know how you're doing.

Hope you are feeling better by now, and your cold has run its course. I agree with the other posters, talk to your doc about your meds, maybe he needs to change the dosage. Don't ever feel there is no one that cares, we all do here on the KT. this is a place you can vent and share your feelings. Take it one day at a time, i know that is a cliche (sp?) but it really is true. Keeping you in my prayers.
