Pineapple Plant

If you buy a fresh Pineapple, just twist off the top and put it in a pot of dirt. It will grow. (should grow!!). Allegedly, in 2 years, it will produce a small fruit. Mine is now 4 years old, and has produced nothing. Ha. An arctic climate, it comes indoors during the winter. Oh well, a pretty plant and conversation piece. Anyone else ever have luck growing a Pineapple?
