My kids have to be at school on Friday so won't be at midnight showing. We do plan to see it in the first few days after it comes out.

I don't know anyone who will go at all. I'd love to go for a midnight show.

DD and I will probably wait a bit. She works a 9-5 job, and I'll still be recouperating from lithotripsy (won't enjoy the movie, if I have to keep getting up to run to the restroom--LOL)

That sure sounds like fun. I've enjoyed the midnight bookstore parties for the latest book release.

Maybe I'll consider it, and drink extra coffee Friday morning to function at work.

I did one midnight showing a few years ago - but I was the "responsible adult" for 4 teens. Did I enjoy the movie - well, it wasn't terrible. The kids LOVED IT! I was gracious enough to sit way in the back, LOL.

But my point is - the energy from the fans is absolutely wonderful! So if it's a movie you're going to see anyway, indulge yourself and go to the midnight showing. You'll love it.

My daughters want to too, but I am too die hard mom about such things. School Friday means bed by 10:00 Thursday. We did go at midnight and get one of the books. We stayed up reading for a few hours but it was summer and school was not a factor.

My son, Alex, already has his ticket, without us. He's going with his K-group at UK. They are a group that is mostly new college students and one older one who shows them around and helps them get around.

The rest of us want to go but the girls have school the next day so we will probably go to the first showing after school on Friday. If we can get a ticket. Last time we went on the opening day it was a nightmare... and no tickets left.

Ssshh-We have been invited to a sneak preview on TUESDAY!!!! Free food too!

I'm sure my 13 yo daughter will try to convince me but she also has school the next day. We will definitely see it a day or two after it comes out. (and I'm sure she will go see it a couple more times during the run) She's been talking about this for months *eyeroll*
When the last book came out I took her to the midnight release at the mall, (she was ten at the time) she dressed up, there were lots of costumes....I won some 'cool' mom points that night ;o)

We did the midnight showing when Twilight came out, was fun, I may have been the oldest person in the theatre!

lisa - I'm tellin'! Booooooo! : ) By "preview" do you mean you just get that - previews - or will you be watching the entire movie?

I'll probably just wait until the following Saturday, IF I can.

I don't go anywhere at midnight anymore, but I can't wait to see this, and I'll probably go to the earliest show on a weekend day.

If DH didn't have to work in the morning we'd TOTALLY do that!!!
The boys are out of school. We can't go without DH so hopefully we'll see it Sunday when he gets home.

a sneak preview, those are the entire movie...sometimes it's to get audience feedback, but is yours a fund raiser?

I just wonder how much they're going to leave out of the movie or how much they changed things. After the second one, the movies veered so far from the books it makes you wonder how things are going to be resolved.

Schoolhouse, I know what you mean. I hear all the time from my son, who grew up reading the books every detail that is different. I've been relistening to the books on cd in the car on my way to and from work, was hoping to be done with the last book before the movie came out. Didn't quite work out that way...and maybe that's a good thing.

I guess advanced showing would be the proper lingo. Its the whole movie for a VIP audience. Personally I am not a huge HP fan, but the kids are very excited!!!

Plus it's too bad we lost Richard Harris as DD. Michael Gambon wasn't the best choice in my opinion.

Driving home from the base clinic and commissary this afternoon, I was told one of the headlights was out.

So...instead of having a nap before HP, I called the late night auto repair place. They have my headlight in stock, and can swap it out and change the oil and have me out of there by 10:30 p.m.

I'm meeting a friend at the theatre at 11 p.m., but I'd be going even if she couldn't have come.

Yes; I'll (for the 7th time) be disappointed that the movie will not come close to the wonderful feeling of the books, but I'll enjoy it all the same.

I love to see all the teens dressed up and really enjoying the moment. The check-out kids at the commissary were all excited and discussing their outfits they were putting together.
