Mayo! The only thing I like MW in is coleslaw. DH insists on MW, so both have a place in our fridge.

Miracle whip is one of the most disgusting things I have ever had! I like mayo or Veganaise.

Blech to both.

Hellman's Mayo ALWAYS

My DH likes MW~~I do not usually have any. When DS lived at home he liked Mayo, so we had both. I use Ranch dressing in cole slaws and potato salad, since DD#2 would not eat Mayo or MW. Have the same problem with having to have Coke and Pepsi in the house, also of which I drink neither. Everyone likes a different beer aso SHEESH!

Hellman's Mayo as well. I got violently sick once after eating something made with Miracle Whip when I was a kid and never tried it again. If someone serves me something with Miracle Whip in it I know right away.

Only Hellman's Mayo.in my kitchen.

MW here. My DH doesn't eat either and I can't stand mayo.

I don't mind Miracle Whip made with Olive oil style product, truthfully, I'm not that picky and I only occasionally eat either MW or mayo. My chicken salad, dips are made with sour cream or sour cream and cream cheese (the dips). I seldom eat a sandwich of any kind (maybe grilled cheese) unless DH has made lunch and then I'm so grateful to have food handed to me, I don't criticize the dressing :)

I'll usually buy something, not faithfully one product, that is reduced fat in any case, not full fat and the fat-free really doesn't taste good to me.

Best Foods mayo only. (It's what Hellman's is called on
the Left Coast.) Miracle Whip? Yuck.

We only buy Duke's or Blue Plate. For some reason, Hellman 's tastes stale to me....like the oil isn't fresh. Never MW. I do like to make my own mayo when the quality really matters.

I've never liked either one. I rarely eat sandwiches and if I do I use different flavored pesto's or dijon. I can't remember the last time I used mayo for anything.

Kraft low-cal mayo.

Mayo...... I really prefer homemade mayo but DH does not.
I buy Best Foods and will be switching to the lower fat kind next time I buy.
Once I made homemade with some fresh basil from the garden....it was wonderful.

I use both, but like Kraft over Hellman's. Most of the time use Miracle Whip.

Kraft mayo never MW. I don't really have much need for it though except for tuna salad and potato salad. Hubby won't eat it.
Dukes is probably my second choice.

I have never had either one in my house.

There are many uses for mayo other than sandwiches. That might be a fun topic for a separate thread. I'd surely miss certain sauces and salad dressings, slaw, tuna and egg and ham and chicken and turkey and potato and traditional macaroni salads; salmon, shrimp, and tuna patties are delicious when mayo is added before cooking. It's added to several of my favorite party dips and spreads, and I have at least three great casseroles that rely on a good mayo for their flavor (but they don't taste like mayo).

ONLY Hellman's and I've tried and thrown out all the others.

I USED to be able to use Miracle Whip back in the 60's and 70's but they changed something. Now it is unappetizing to even LOOK at.

Mayo for me, now. Hellman's, and Hellman's light. I sometimes splurge on a jar of organic mayo made with canola oil that has a nice vinegary tang. Can't remember the brand. I only use it for sandwiches. Potato salad has to have full fat Hellman 's for me! A rare treat.

I grew up on Miracle Whip but it's much too sweet tasting to me now. Whenever I go home to visit my mother, one of the first things I have to buy is a jar of mayo (even though she calls MW mayo lol). I'll use mustard before MW at this point.

I use neither, nor do I own a bottle of ketchup.

I find, you can cook, and eat without.

We rarely use it, but there is always a small jar of Hellman's in the fridge -- full bore, not low-fat. LOL I've eaten it with leftover salmon, cold. I use it to make 'tartar sauce' too -- adding a dash of celery salt and dill pickle relish.

Hellman's Light....but I hear good things about Dukes...just haven't tried it yet.

Mayo. I just keep a small jar because I don't use it for a lot of things - just tuna or chicken salad & on my sandwiches when we have them. I use the Kraft olive oil mayo. DH isn't a fan & prefers mustard.

I like all of except the low fat stuff. They put sugar in that. I rarely use it since most of the family doesn't like it.

Hellman's Light for me. In CA it is called Best Foods. I rarely use it but it is something I have to have in the fridge for tuna sandwiches, etc.

Best Foods mayo here....no MW, ever. And don't like the low-fat version of mayo either.

Real mayo, full fat. I think you tend to like what you grew up with.

I use mustard on sandwiches. If a recipe calls for mayo, I always use Hellmans. I never use miracle whip.

I keep both in my fridge. Hubby likes Hellmans, I'm a MW girl.You should see me make side by side BLTs. I have to remember which sandwich is his and which is mine.

I grew up on miracle whip as did my children. Now we are all adults and its Mayonnaise (usually Hellman's) in my refrigerator. A small jar of miracle whip for those who prefer it

I like them both. MW for sweeter foods, Mayo for less sweet and sandwiches.

Hellman's was always the mayo in the fridge while I was growing up. A couple years ago, I switched to Kraft, but now I'm a Duke's girl. And I think Duke's is a southern thing, but when I lived in N.C., I never tried it!

(Why is there still a Hellman's in the East/Best Foods in the West thing? You'd think that the company would save money printing just one label, right?)

It doesn't cost more to have two labels. Here's what wikipedia says:

"In 1932, Best Foods bought the Hellmann's brand. By then both mayonnaises had such commanding market shares in their respective halves of the country that the company decided that both brands and recipes be preserved. To this day:

It's assumed (but not known with certainty) that today it's the same product inside the jar.

Oh, and yes, I vote for Best Foods. MW has an odd taste to me.
