I love popcorn except stale bland popcorn. The fresh kind at the movies is my favorite. But I like most of them.

My favorite popcorn is the hot stuff that Ace Hardware stores pop fresh every morning - it's free and YUMMY!!!

At this time of the year iI used to make Peppermint candied popcorn with red and green food colouring. It used to sell really well at the church bazaars. Light corn syrup, butter, pepperment flavouring were the ingredients used if I remember correctly. Popcorn was air popped, placed in large bowl and lightly covered with the ingredients and then placed in the oven with heat to harden.

I've sworn off popcorn. Too hard on my teeth. Too profitable for my dentist. Between popcorn and wasabi peas, my husband & I have 5 crowns.

I like air popped Orville Redenbacker popcorn. I used to make caramel corn but with white sugar. Lots of popped corn and not as much coating so that it is not too sweet. My son made it for his girlfriend, who liked it so much she made batches of it to wrap up to give to her fellow office workers one Christmas. Well, they are married now, and he has asked for a deep roasting pan for Christmas so he can make lots of the caramel corn. I just bought him a big pan today at Marshall's.

I'm a spartan popcorn eater--only air-popped, and only sprayed lightly with olive oil (or olive oil cookinig spray), and sprinkled lightly with sea salt. I like it that way.

I will eat NO-butter movie popcorn, but I go to the movies about once or twice a year, so that isn't often.

The only stuff I eat is the old fashioned popped on the stove top stuff. YUCK to microwave stuff. I could live on popcorn! No butter, just a little salt.

Love "real " popped on the stove popcorn with melted butter and Kosher salt. I'll add parmesan sometimes, but not often. Not a microwave product fan.

I have the micro-wave bagged but we still make old fashion in the pan on the stove...found about a cap or so of oil, and just enough pc to cover the bottom....it's one of those old fashion heavy alum pans...(like restaurant service) dh does get carried away with butter but omg!

1) Microwave Popcorn? NO- just the smell of microwave popcorn makes us sick
2) Air Popper? (yes) But needs lots of extra butter and salt
3) Old fashioned stovetop popper? I don't have a stove top popper, but always use a small pan to make it.
3) Stick in the fireplace popper? Not for the fireplace in the house, but we had a blacksmith make us a ring with a long handle to make home made "jiffy pop" popcorn in the camp fire. I take a foil pie pan, put in a little oil, popcorn and cover with foil like the jiffy pop.
4) Store bought in a bag? (sometimes) if I'm desperate!
5) Kettle Corn (too sweet) NO

I love chocolate covered pop corn, but otherwise it's only butter and salt. And I don't use oil in the pan when I make it. If I do I burn it. I use butter flavor Crisco, let it melt, drop 3 kernals in it and cover. When those 3 kernals have popped I know it's hot enough to add the rest of the corn. I have a friend who melts the melting chocolate discs and pours over the popped corn, using the different colors for the different holidays for a special treat.

I dislike the smell and taste of packaged microwave popcorn. I will only eat air popped with butter, no salt.

I have one of the original glass microwave popcorn poppers, you use nothing but the corn. If you want to try it with a tiny bit of olive oil or flavored oil you can and the top of it has holes so you can put butter there and it melts down onto the popcorn. But none of that is needed, just pour 1/3cup kernels in, cover and pop. We have had it for years, works beautifully, cleans easily, wonderful fluffy popcorn.
It's made of laboratory grade glass.

Popcorn is a staple of my diet, along with chocolate and cheap red wine!!!

I've tried many types of poppers, (never seen the one Ravencajun
showed) and still come back to a heavy pan on top of the stove, about a teaspoon or two of oil, and more pop corn kernals than I should use. When it starts popping and seems about to blow off the pan lid, I quickly empty most of it into the first bowl I have waiting, return the pan to the stove and let it continue popping. I have it down to a fine art. The dog gets the popcorn that flies out of the pan, and I have a second batch of popped corn to seal up for another day.

Only butter, salt and maybe garlic powder go on top.

It's amazing to me how much popcorn costs at the movie compared to what it costs to make, although I have indulged when my movie membership card grants me a free bag.

P.S. I try not to 'chew' popcorn, but 'gum' it instead as my dentist told me that it's easy to crack a tooth biting down on popcorn (and I have a cracked tooth already). My dental hygienist told me recently that it takes three days, even when flossing regularly, to get the popcorn hulls completely out of your mouth.

Doesn't stop me from enjoying it, though!

But when I did--I popped it on the range in a regular saucepan with a lid. Never microwave--that stuff voids your microwave warrantee (they don't tell you that, though, and encourage it with those popped corn settings) it's very bad for the 'works' of the unit.

Popped corn is best with just butter and salt, IMO--but butter and cinnamon and sugar works well, too.

Now? Instead of popped corn, I make caramel Kix--tastes exactly the same, and even those who don't suffer from D. love it.

Microwaved popcorn stinks up the whole house so I don't do that any more. Costco carries Chicago Mix, which is half caramel corn and half cheese corn and two bags are in my cart every trip! Yum.

I love popcorn. I use a heavy aluminum dutch oven (60+ years old - Mom used it before I was born for popcorn as well) when I take the time to do it "from scratch". I top it with clarified butter and lots of salt. Sometimes I will mix the clarified butter with a little cocoa butter. I know that's not really good for me, but so good. When I'm lazy, microwave suits me just fine. I will eat air popped, but that is my least favorite.

We make our own with the Stir Crazy popcorn popper.... electric popper, not stovetop.
Uses just a bit of oil and makes great popcorn.

Yes, I like popcorn, with butter, caramel and kettle. Anymore I fix mine in the microwave with the Presto popper. I don't do the bagged in the microwave. I like the popper really well.
