I decided I'd have steak tonite. Don't remember the last time I cooked one. It was a thick one so 1 steak did the both of us.

Fennel bulbs are on sale for 99cents, so I roasted fennel, onions, carrots and potatoes to go alongside the steak.

Guess what's for dessert.......apple cobbler.....Again!!!! LOL

Glenda's kitchen and it was lovely.

Best baked sweet potato, organic, from Fresh Market and their wonderful Italian sausage link.

Potato was plain with few sprinkles of pumpkin pie spice.

Maybe I'll visit Glenda's kitchen more often :o)

Hubby is at hunting camp so I'm alone...with the 7 cats. So they had Mariner's Platter and I had leftover lazyman's stuffed cabbage. Oh and Lil Coonie (a young raccoon I've befriended) had yogurt, grapes and some cookies to go with his catfood. Now I have to go get the dogfood out for the possum and skunk, and the nightshift of raccoons.

Jasdip, I always just cook one steak for Harry and me. If it's big, we have leftovers. We just don't eat much meat anymore. Not consciously, just don't seem to want it as much as we used to. I have all the stuff for your cobbler and wrote out the recipe while my computer was down. I have everything to make it but have to get rid of the T-giving desserts eaten first.

I baked a pork roast this afternoon and we had it this evening along with some leftover vegetables from Thanksgiving. Norm also had bread and butter with is meal.

Turkey soup. It came out ok..not my fav. Still have so many leftovers. Tomorrow night it will be Turkey pot pie with the stuffing as the bottom crust

We had leftovers Sunday night, after doing a big soup dinner (at 1 p.m.) at our house. The 1 p.m. menu included chili, vegetable beef barley, and turkey wild rice curry, along with 'Applebee's' artichoke spinach dip, corn chips, italian bread, and rolls.

Jasdip: That was an amazingly low price for fennel, no? Doesn't that stuff usually cost an arm and a leg?

And you're making me want a good steak! But I leave the cooking to restaurants -- I hate making a mess out of an expensive piece of beef!

Pammyfay, that's what I thought too with the fennel!
I seldom cook steak, because it can go wrong so fast.
DH likes his medium and I like mine medium-rare. Since this steak was very thick, I cut it in half, when it was medium-rare and popped his half in the oven. Both halves turned out perfect.

The roasted veggies were just fantastic. We love veggies this way.

Jel48, I've always thought a soup party would be fun to host. Soups can be made ahead and frozen, which makes it pretty easy for the host/hostess. Did you make all the soup or was it pot luck? Either way, I bet it was tasty!

Jeaninwa, what a good idea to use the stuffing for the crust. Bet that will be good!

We ended up with 28 big eaters for Thanksgiving and no left overs. I couldn't beleive I had no turkey left over for sandwiches or soup. I told my husband we have to go buy a small one just to get some left overs.
Ended up cooking Italian sausage sandwiches and onion rings. I spent two days cooking and preparing. I really don't want to cook for a few days.

Wow, two.25acres, I don't blame you. Wow, 28 people!
