I need to ask for prayers

Very dear friends of ours got the phone call that strikes terror in every parent's heart .... their son has died. We live in PA, he in Colorado, he loved to climb mountains and went this weekend. He's climbed all over North and South America, was planning on Kilimanjaro in 2011.

I do not know exactly how or what happened, other than he fell to his death. I know that he died doing something he absolutely loved, but that brings no solace to hearts that are so broken. Please take a moment to send a good thought or prayer for Bill and Carol as they face what no parent should ever have to do. Thank you.

As someone who has been there, my thoughts and prayers are being offered for Bill and Carol. The loss of their son is heartbreaking....one day they will be able to find happiness in the fact that he died doing what he loved but it will be a long way off.

I'm just seeing this for the first time and I am happy to hear all will be well. She is a lucky girl to have discovered it in this fashion. Just had a friend (in her 70's), perfectly healthy, complained of a horrible headache while baking Christmas cookies and went to the hospital. She died with two days from the bleed in her brain. Everyone who knew her was stunned.

You do know that, with Kasey, being clean is only the first step. She will need long term counseling to realize how and why she fell for a controlling and abusive partner, and how to avoid it in the future. Telling her is not enough, she has to recognize it for herself in order to avoid it happening again. All you can do is support her, and we all can pray for strength for her to be successful. I hope and pray that you can retain contact with her children, but they will also need professional help to avoid the same path Kasey has taken (and hopefully can change course). Prayers for you all.

That is so sad, especially with the holidays coming up. I pray that they can find some kind of peace in that he died doing what he loved, but that isn't really very comforting. You are a good friend to ask for prayers.

One never expects to lose a child, and when it does happen, it must be the saddest thing in the world. Peace to your friends, in time.

Thank you all, they are heading to Colorado tomorrow morning. The dad is battling lymphoma, just finished his last round of chemo and was to start radiation this week. I hope this doesn't set him back. This just breaks my heart.
