Rummaged in the freezer and came up with meatloaf and baked beans. With that,I will have cucumbers and fresh home made bread.

Wanted to use up some leftover celery, so made a big pot of cream of celery soup, and I just 'popped' some popovers in the oven to go with.

Ah done et! I fixed chuck roast, potatoes, carrots and biscuits plus white cake. The cake was the 50% less sugar one. I know nothing green on my plate! I always or try to always eat early, then I head up to my room soon. It snowed here a bit ago. Izzi loved it and the outside cats tried to get into the house! They have a nice big heated mattress kitty house. The snow didn't amount to much.

I've got a pork roast in the oven. A new recipe.....marinated all day and now roasting, along with potatoes, carrots and onions on the baking sheet beside it.

I'll sit on my hands so I don't make another apple cobbler!

Sue, you had pure comfort food to me. I like to mash the potatoes with my fork and put the meat broth over the towith lots of pepper. Yum! Hope you warm up, up there.

I've never made cream of celery soup, Azzelea but I bet it's good. Much better than Campbells for sure. I'd like it because I even like that red can stuff!

Phyllis, I found meatloaf this morning in the freezer, too. Problem was, I didn't have any homemade bread to go with! Or cucumbers, either :-(

I've been cooking all day for a dinner party tomorrow night so I'm not cooking dinner tonight for sure! I'm having the leftover seafood bake I had last night and DH is getting some frozen pizza from Costco.

I still have to make the dessert for tomorrow's dinner.

Patti, it's really no trouble--and a great way to use up a half bunch or so of celery.

I just sauted onion, diced celery (Including the leaves), and a little green pepper in some butter, stired in a little flour to thicken, then added a couple of cups of chicken stock and a couple of cups of milk. Seasoned with S & P, and parsley7 Put the leftovers in the freezer, they'll be good for lunch one day.

And the house smelled SO good all afternoon!

Speaking of pork roast, I made my marinated roast with the cherry sauce today. I am getting food ready for our trip. I must say we eat really good on the road.

I bought a new crock pot with the meat probe so cooked the roast in it. My oven gave out and they don't make the part for it anymore. It is only 12 years old. So now I am in the market for a new stove.

Anyway the roast came out delicious as usual. Served it with steamed rice and carrots. Delivered some to the lady across the street, she had Carpal Tunnel surgery this morning. She lives alone and we have known her since 1986 when we bought the house.

Just got the strudel in the oven. Just like everything else, they're cutting down on the size of the Filo dough so in order to get the size I wanted there was just too much piecing together of the dough. When I went to roll it, it split and was falling apart and looked just plain gross. I finally decided to scrap it and start over making two smaller rolls instead. Much better although I so loved the look of one big plump strudel. Nothings easy.

Lauren wanted Qdoba burritos tonight but we ended up going for sushi instead. She and I ordered a super dragon roll, I ordered tuna sashimi, Sola had a spicy roll of I think shrimp and we all ordered miso soup. We ended up sharing the rolls because Sola didn't really care for what she ordered and liked ours' better. Liza went to swim practice and dinner at a Chinese place with her teammates.

I was feeling lazy today and didn't really even feel like eating so I decided to do something totally simple.

I steamed a big spaghetti squash, then served in on a plate like spaghetti pasta, which I topped with a bit of marjarine, salt, pepper and a light coat of a cheap italian vinegar & oil salad dressing and some garlic bread on the side,,,,

I decided to pass on desert tonight,,,my waistline has enough excess deserts now to last a year or two..
