It's hard to see your chicks suffering, isn't it? I've had my share of that. Hopefully she heals fast in your loving arms!

It is hard to see our kids hurting. When the 'wound' is this fresh, the last thing she would want to hear is there are more fish in the sea, but it is the truth. All you can do for her now, is to listen when she wants to talk and lend her a shoulder when she needs to cry. It sounds like because you experienced the same thing, so you can know how she is feeling. I hope she heals quickly.

I think most of us have went through this at one time or another. It's all part of growing up. Just be there for her. ((((((hugs)))))))))

I remember my GF years ago breaking up with her BF because she wanted children and he didn't. After a month apart he agreed to having children, they married and 14 years later they have 4 boys. He's miserable. He has nothing to do with the children, if one of the kids comes close to him, he asks the child to play somewhere else. It's hard to watch. I wish she would have left him when she had the chance.....he would have been hurt...but now....

I just went through this with my daughter in September. It's really, really hard, but you have to be strong for her. It really will get better.

Ahhh, and wasn't it extra 'sweet' of him to do it at the beginning of the holiday season. We can stand our own pain much better than we can our kids.

To add to it, in September, for her 21st birthday, he gave her a diamond ring. Not an engagement ring, a birthday gift.

He'll regret it one day, and if he doesn't then he didn't deserve her!

My daughter went through this, too. She dated a guy all through high school, college, lived in an apartment after college and then bought a house together. They were together 14 years. He ended up cheating on her. He married the gal, had 2 girls and she cheated on him.. They divorced. My daughter married a really nice guy and they have 3 kids.. It was so hard seeing my daughter go through this. I supported her in every way. You just have to be there to listen and give warm hugs..

I feel bad for you both but as I have told my DD who has gone through this 3-4X's she was lucky she dodged a bullet!

Give her lots of hugs and love~~~do not bash the guy too much you never know if they might go back together~~drink lots of wine or eat lots of ice cream together. ((HUGGS))

My Granddaughter is just now going through this too. She and her Boyfriend, a fellow she dated all through high school, and now lived with for the past 2 years...discussed getting married... and he told her flat out.. that he had no intention of marrying anyone, and if he did it sure wouldn't be her. Poor kid took it hard, but moved back home with Mom and Dad. We have been praying for them to split for a long time... He has never been faithful during the entire relationship.. and she has supported him these past two years...

It hurts something fierce, and my GD is sure needing a self esteem boost too... and lots of love from family...

Maybe he just realized that he isn't ready to live with someone. You know--you have to adapt to having another person in your space. You have to clean the house a little better than you would if you were alone. You have to clean the dishes a little sooner than you might otherwise. You always have to remember to put the toilet seat down!

Maybe he saw a little look that day he gave her that diamond "birthday" ring and realized the disappointment in her eye that it really was "just" a birthday ring and that it didn't come with a proposal. And maybe that scared him--made him realize that she's thinking of marriage perhaps a lot sooner than 5 years and that was a little too much for him to handle. Especially if he's the same age (or thereabouts).

I would not lay on her all of your experiences. That someone better might come along. Because even if this guy wants to date someone else, he might just realize your gal is the one for him. Sometimes it takes another date or relationship to help sort things out.

I know how you feel,my daughter lives alone now the more she tries to get ahead the more problems she gets.She saved a kitty was alone a busy road,it was raining cat was sick,brought it home got her healthy had her fixed.She loved the cat.She left her out the other night it didnt come back.She said it usually stayed on deck,or right around the house.Shes so upset.Ifeel so bad for her.You hate it when your kids are hurting.
