It's getting OLD, really old! How old is yours?

My dishwasher won't change cycles unless I do it.

It's 26 plus years old.

Guess that's next on my TO BUY agenda!

Our dishwasher is 18 years old. It was brand new, as was this house, when we moved in. I hate it. I have always hated it. We'll be getting a new one soon, just as soon as we decide which model we want. It's just the two of us so we only run the thing once a week...

Mine is about six years old and ready to bite the dust. I had to hand wash probably 1/2 the dishes that were already run through the dishwasher this morning. I'm ready to throw it out and just do them all by hand. Besides, washing by hand takes me 15 minutes. The dishwasher takes about an hour!

Looks similar, but the rose doesnt get as big as mentioned on hmf. This one stays small and compact, aside from the long canes. The leaf count is the same, my blooms look slightly different, but it is very close. Open to any more suggestions.

I accidentally discovered how to strip a cast iron pan of all gunk, patina, or anything else when I showed my children how to make lye soap. Instructions said not to use an aluminum, glass, or porcelain coated vessel. What else did I have but a cast iron skillet? I made the soap with lye and grease. Sure was glad to be doing it outdoors. The fumes were fierce! It heats up all on its own. No stove needed. When the reaction stopped I had a glob of dark brown soap, and an absolutely bare pan where ever the lye had been able to react with the grease in the gunk and patina. Had to start from square one to re-season it! Could not use the soap. And then there is the time my then husband decided to be helpful and burn the gunk off with a welding torch. He actually melted a hole in the bottom of one of his grandmother's pans, then attempted to fill the hole with a brass patch. Not recommended!

The peeve of mine that gets the best workout has to be improper detailing of porches or porticos that folks are trying to make appear classically-inspired. Seems like most of the time the lintels are larger or thicker than the column underneath - a big no-no. Then, the entablature is compressed to fit under the eaves or second floor window line so much so that the proportions are further distorted. It is also likely that the columns are some mishmash of style, composition or proportion. If the beam is arched, it appears it was cut freehand with a jigsaw, without regard to any evenness or flow to the curving line. The overhanging portions are quite often botched, too. From zero overhang to a fascia that is equal in visual weight to the lintel, we see it all around here. You might expect this on starter homes or where an owner/builder is in charge, but on houses double the median price? I do go on, but I'll finish with this-- good proportions don't cost more than poor ones. Casey

" Pretty much :-) What is underground is typically much, much more expansive than what shows up above ground. The primary example is Pando, a colony of quaking aspens in Utah estimated to be somewhere in the range of 14,000-80,000 y.o. and with a single root system covering 107 acres! But that is a clonal grouping. Individual/independent trees (non-clonal) can also have very expansive root spreads, often extending out 2-3 times the height of the tree. I don't use mine often, less than you, lindsey.

Was running it, today, cause I cooked a big family meal.

My home warranty ends soon, maybe I'll give them a call. Know it's listed on the warranty.

Our Bosch dishwasher is 9 months old. We had a total kitchen remodel last January. The Bosch works great and is so quiet you have to touch it or read the panel to see if it's on.

It has an annoying beeeeep that alerts you every five min that it is done because you can't tell since it's so quiet.

I think ours is about 19 years old. It works pretty well to clean the dishes, but the door spring is loose. I'm saving my pennies to get a new dishwasher and a new fridge too.

I got mine in 2001. It's the third DW I've had since we moved here in 1981. I'm on my second stove and refrige, clothes washer and dryer. Also our second heating system was just installed this Sept 15. Nothing original in the house, both bathrooms re-done.

LOL, Vique! That's a good one. As the 60 year old kitchen technician in our house, I hope my six year old dishwashing machine lasts longer than I do. It does a great, quiet job.

But, Boo Hoo, my sewing machine conked out today. It will sew only in reverse! It's a 36 year old computerized Singer that has sewn thousands of garments, gowns, drapes, curtains, etc. over the years. I haven't decided what to do yet - try to get it fixed or get a new one. Thing is, they're so expensive, but I really use my machine a lot! I'm always in the middle of a project, but today I'm in the middle of three projects! I'm very annoyed right now.

We have had 3 machines since moving here in 1979. The last one was a fast replacement bottom of the line Kitchen Aide I bought 15 minutes before closing for a long weekend. It is quieter than our old GEs. I guess Bosch should be what we buy next time as I wanted a very quiet machine as our kitchen/family room great room needs quiet machines.

He turned 49 last month. LOL Our house is old and we would have to remodel the kitchen to install one. We really dirty so few dishes that we don't have a problem washing by hand. Sometimes Jammer and somtimes me.

My dishwasher was 62 years old in October. Yeah....that's me. Of all the things I want, a dishwasher is pretty low on the list...in fact, non existant. I like washing dishes by hand, so no chance of getting a "new one".

Mine's about 2 yrs old...bought it at a second hand store real cheap. It was never used,still had all the tags on.Never had one that actually worked before,I like it!
