? about really old seeds, how do I get them to germinate?

Hi All,

Yesterday was a nice surprise when my mother gave me an envelope with really old seeds from an herb that my grandmother used to grow. We figure that these seeds might be about 10 years old (max).

We really want to get these to germinate, as my grandmother had passed a few years ago, it would be a nice memory to have a few of her herb plants from her old yard.

Any suggestions?

Should I try to winter sow a few?

We do not know the actual name of the herb, but we remember that it was very aromatic.
