That is great Moni. I don't let my sheets get that dirty, but they can at times and have to be cleaned. I always used the Dawn Power cleaner and or SOS pads. Sure hope your tip works and I will copy it.

For years I've had Silpat sheets. Nothing sticks ever, also I've used them for kneading bread. I have to say my pans are really clean and pretty.

I just tried it on my cookie sheets that are 25 years old. It did not work for me.

I had some cookie sheets and extra large cake pans (from my cake decorating days)
I was going to toss them out.
Then one day I was cleaning out the oven with Easy Off fume free and thought what the heck I'll try it on those pans. I had never tried it before because I didn't know what it would do to aluminum.
Sprayed it on let it set for awhile and wiped...they were sparkly clean again. So about once a year they get a good sparkly cleaning.

I got these last year off Freecycle. I scrubbed them with Barkeeper's Friend and they came out like new.....

This cast iron skillet was given to me and I put it in a plastic bag and sprayed it with oven cleaner and left it outside.

Barkeeper's Friend is fabulous for this purpose. It sometimes helps to soak items for awhile in a solution of BF and water, but I've never had it fail. The stuff is really amazing--and very inexpensive.

That is the post I was looking for lo those many months ago. I wonder if it works on stainless steel. Guess the only way to find out is try it. Thanks, Moni for remembering.
