Even if the Lyme test is negative, unless another cause is conclusively determined, he should probably keep taking the dox, since as Alisande mentions, the test they perform for Lyme is notorious for false negatives. Another possibility that occurs to me is that is could be some sub-cutaneous infection of a nasty bacteria. Does he live in an area that have been affected by the flooding? Or has he visited and helped out in such an area? Lastly if it starts looking much worse, and the doctors say "It must be a Brown Recluse Spider bite", that in all likelihood is a guess on their part, and most likely a wrong one since the Brown Recluse's range doesn't extend into West Virginia.

After what we just went through I would say watch it like a hawk and the first smell take it out of the house. It is not worth a life or home.

Copying my post from the other thread: Alisande, After manually doing the background removal, and drawing in the part of his sleeve where his friend's plaid shirt overlapped it using Paint Shop Pro 7, I imported the image into Picasa, and then did: Fill Light, Auto Contrast, Warmify, Saturation (down), Auto Color. Alisande is right that Picasa isn't readily available anymore and is no longer being developed or supported. Also it primarily was designed for storing and managing collections of images rather than editing them, as such its editing capabilities are rudimentary at best. However for quickly changing the overall tone, contrast, or color balance of the entire image, its simple, quick operations often produce better results than hours of tweaking color settings using more powerful tools. Because of the quick feedback and easy undo, getting the right combo of operations took less than 2 minutes. And if Picasa is old, Paint Shop Pro 7.0 is downright archaic, I believe I purchased my copy way back in 1999. Interestingly though since it was designed to work on the equipment available way back then, on more modern equipment it can run quite fast, especially compared to modern, giant, bloated programs. A couple of years ago a co-worker was trying to edit a campaign poster for a friend of hers who was running for clerk of courts. She was sent a image from a previous time that person ran for a different office. My co-worker tried to open the image in GIMP, and while she was waiting for that program to load all of its extensions, she asked whether I had image editing software. She emailed me the image, I opened Paint Shop Pro, loaded the image, made the asked-for changes, saved the image, and emailed it back, all before the GIMP program finished initializing itself and loading the image. Removing the background (as in that other thread) is not too difficult, especially if you don't care what it is replaced with, as examples of more difficult editing tasks, I took the following image from the Brazil zoo: and edited it to be this: Or fixed this image of an aqueduct in Sicily that was blocked by the guard rail. to be this: Or took these two hunt images: and combined them to make this: A careful eye will pick out instances of trees in the background repeating in the final image.

Lindsey, I was thinking the same when I saw that chair. I think every house should have a chair for someone older or with a bad back or any kind of disability at all no matter how minor. The comfort of my guests is important to me. I can almost always find a place for a chair, even if a guest room. But then I have a weakness for occasional tables too and you don't want me to start on lamps. I can always find a lamp I love ;) I do really like that chair and think it could fit with a number of decor styles. I wouldn't be surprised to find it has some value.
