Me, too! I would love a turkey sandwich with mayo and lettuce.

We used to go to my MIL or SIL homes for Thanksgiving. Oh we made TG at our house every few years, too. But we always roasted a turkey of our own for the leftovers. I can't imagine not having any turkey meat in my house the last week of November.

We missed it on TV but can go see them anytime. Game and Oarks says they now estimate about 600,000 cranes in the area. Think there are that many bird watchers too. Went out to eat and the restaurants are reallu busy/.. Paer said people from England, Germany, Iceland, A large group from Switzerland and a scattering of other countries. Plus about every state. And that is just the people that are staying around here, a few miles east of here whe the Rowe Sanctuary for the cranes is there are hundreds more people from everywhere One of the men from Switzerland was interview and he said he and his wife will be out at the river every morning and sunset for a week. He also said he cried when the cranes took of in the morning and actually blotted out the rising sun. Didn't know why but was moved deeply.

The blizzard really didn't hit us as bad as was being forecast. We only got about 6 inches or so. Beautiful sunny day today -- a rare event here.

Another Danged Vine Question
Q
Comments (3)
Hello, bboy. The planting space (newly amended and cleared) is two sections each about 1' X 2' on the "show" side-- facing the street. However, if I were to plant vines on the "privacy" side facing the backyard the space would be almost unlimited; That side is bare. Nothing but grass and some rather rocky soil that would need amending before I could plant. The fence itself is about 6' tall and very plain, apart from the top 1' which has a trellis pattern. The jasmine was nice, but I'd prefer something with bigger, brighter colors so it would stand out more against the white paint.

Unbearable stress of home selling
Q
Comments (7)
First of all, this is easier to say then to do, but you need to relax and stop stressing. Selling a home is one of the most stressful things you can do, and you just have to know that in the end it will all work out, probably with some compromises, but still it will soon be over. As far as not knowing how much you will spend on repairs, treat it like a business transaction. Come up with a number that you're willing to give and go with that. If you just want to get the home sold, if you have a lot of equity in your existing home, then you have more room to deal and will give more in concessions just because you have the ability to do so. If you have little equity, if the home is already rock bottom, then you'll give less in concessions. Ultimately your goal is to get the home sold, and working with the buyers on a compromise situation is your best way of accomplishing the goal. Communication is key, a good realtor will put your mind at ease by keeping you informed of what is going on in the whole process. I don't know if there is a clear predictor of how to tell when buyers will just back out. I once asked my realtor how often people back out and at the time, she said she'd never had anyone not show up at the closing table. She said if the deal was going to fall through it fell through due to financing or inspection issues. Don't know if this is still true, but my own experiences, we've never had anyone back out.

Dea, how fast can you be in Ohio?! I have lots of leftovers to share. I was hoping the kids and my parents would come help eat them, but it might be just my parents. I think I will be freezing some!

Next time buy yourself a little turkey breast and cook it in the crock pot for leftovers - that's what I do. :)

Me too. I didn't get pumpkin pie for breakfast.

Time to make one of my own, I suppose.

Tomorrow is turkey CASSEROLE day, my favorite meal of the Thanksgiving season. Seriously. I'd cook the turkey just for the casserole, if I could get away with it. It's about the only thing I use canned mushroom soup in!

Guess what I had for breakfast no less... a hot turkey sandwich consisting of turkey, stuffing, some cranberry sauce and dab of mayo, then topped with another slice of bread and then over the whole thing goes steaming hot homemade giblet gravy....possibly the best sandwich in the world...the second day after thanksgiving anyway..

Go get the stuff and make a belated Thanksgiving meal, or plan it for Christmas.

Gemini--fabulous breakfast! Sounds better than any pancakes, eggs, etc.!
