I am also knitting 2 dishclothes each for my friends and also doing towel toppers.

Not talented enought, but am buying some cute things at the craft shows.

Enjoyingspring, when you knit the dishcloths..is there a particular type of yarn to use?

I might make some fruit rollups or fudge. That is about it. I've taken on a lot of volunteer work this year. I just don't have the time even though my kids are all in school now.

I have been making garments for everyone in my family since my kids were born. Now that there are 19 of us, tho, I may have to start reconsidering and just do it for our 7 (and counting!) grands.

This year it is pj bottoms and robes for all the menfolk, little boys, and women, and velvet and satin party dresses for the five little girls. Alas, I am afraid the oldest gdtrs will age out of party dresses by next year.

I was given some crochet/knitted dishcloths but I wished they were bigger. They shrunk quite a bit. Also the holes were big, so my knife points would stab me when I washed them. So I guess they were crocheted. I passed them all on, didn't care for them.

Please don't take this as an insult directed at those who make them, it was just my experience with them. It was probably the way they were made.

Before we left home for the sunshine in Arizona, I made 5 really cute purses for teens....13/14 year old grands. Turned out cute but very labor intensive and I hope to make at least one more, for me (in purple colors). Also, almost finished a baby quilt for first GGD due Feb. It will be interesting to see if I can sew in this MH and confined space, but I have projects lined up. I usually do baking/candy at home so we shall see what happens.

I usually make a few things at Christmas time. I like the potato bags for gifts and ornaments are always nice.

We don't really do much in the way of gifts anymore, other than hubby's sis in Phoenix. I may do something for the KT card exchange tho...the only other shopping we do is for the angel we pull from the Salvation Army tree, the Humane Society gifts and the help center.

I origami money for the adult kids, their spouses and the grandkids. Money is always the right size, color, etc. And it's inexpensive to mail. This year, I've done t-shirts with pants, flowers on stems, hearts, and stars. I decorate them with beads, ribbon, glitter, stickers, etc.

I'm "steeping" some homemade vanilla as I type..started it last week, should have started it a couple of months ago, but oh well!!! And Since I had vanilla beans left over, I'm also making Vanilla sugar. Still have beans left-over, so have to see what else I do with them.

We don't exchange any presents, CR, but I'm about to get started on the ornaments for this years party. I'm making tall skinny snowmen or Santas that are going to be cute if they turn out like the pattern. :) And I have to come up with a cute party food, too.

We have a large family and birthdays are always a struggle to remember so I do calendars every year for my brothers families and my mom. I put in the birthdays and a picture when possible, January is particularly difficult as we have many birthdays on the same days. We also have two sets of twins and the spaces on store bought calendars are very small to accomodate everything. I've thought about making the actual calendar but that is just allot of work and expense.
