Question about Firefox

I am finally giving Firefox a try....but the text is way too tiny. In Internet Explorer, there is a scroll-down choice of text size under "View"....is there a similar feature for Firefox....I sure can't find it and it is totally useless to me without that. Thanks!

I use the CTRL key and scroll on the mouse to make the font larger or smaller if I need it as I am reading.

I'm using Firefox version 2.0.0.1 with Adblock 0.5.3.043. I finally got my ads under control when I started using wildcards (*) in my blocks. For example I have blocks on */ads/* and *.doubleclick.net/* Those two really cleared up my browsing.

Firefox updates, another trivial question, perhaps

I imported my post from another thread. FF12 beta 1 was released around March 16, 2012, followed by five more betas. The most recent beta 6 around April 18, 2012. A supposed final was released around April 22, 2012. I have read that there is some user confusion as to it being an actual final version, or just a RC (release candidate). I have also read some reported concerns regarding stability of this final/RC version. I myself am waiting for a clarification and a popular position on the release. As always, with any application a user must use caution when exploring betas and RCs. DA

Trivial question #31; about Firefox tabs.

I could not go back to NOT using tabs can not even imagine it. Once you start and get used to how much time it saves you and how easy it is to do you will quickly start to love them. Plus it is easier on your pc to have only mulitple tabs open rather than having multiple instances of complete windows open. This is one thing I love about tabs. I can set up a folder up on the bookmarks toolbar in that folder I put the links to every site I visit every day, like this forum, the other forums I am on, my netvibes page which contains all my rss news feeds, my email sites. Then in the morning I go to that folder easily accessible on the top of the firefox bar right click on it and select open all in tabs. Bam immediately I have my full list of tabs open in one movement now that is a huge time saver, They are there open and ready for me to visit one after the other. I have another folder up there called tools in that one I have the links to all the security programs I have to recommend or list many times a day when helping people with pc issues, I do not have to go looking in favorites or google or where ever for them I have them all right there in that folder on my bookmarks toolbar, I left click the folder go to the one I need right click it to open in new tab and I am there. Huge asset.

what you do in firefox will not affect IE so go ahead and select to import your favorites, settings and history even if you want to. I let it import everything when I set them up for people. I also highly recommend installing xmarks on all browsers that is one very easy way to keep all your faves synced between browsers and even on different computers and devices. when you download it you set up your own webpage there with a user name and password and it also copies all of your faves to your website so even if you are on a computer away from home that is not yours you can access your faves by logging into your xmarks page. How it works is every time you add a new bookmark it registers the change and will alert you that you need to sync your faves when you do it then makes that change on all of your devices and on the website. Just install it on each browser there is a version for firefox, IE, Chrome use the one that is for that browser. From then on you are set and even if your pc dies you don't lose them you just install xmarks on the new pc or device and sync it and voila everything is as it was. I have it on everything. When text is too small, I hold down on "control" (Ctrl)(and move the roller ball on the mouse forward). Don't know if that would be a fix for you or not.

Go to view, then zoom and it takes you to another level which is "in" or "out"

Firefox has several different add-ons for enlarging text, page, etc.

The link is for a page of various add-ons. You might want to try a couple and see which you like best.

I use the Zoom Toolbar.

BTW, do you have the latest version of Firefox? It is v. 3.6.10.

you want to set that size for all websites you visit the best way to do that is not to use the zoom way but to change the setting in your firefox it self. At the top click on Tools > Options> under content tab go to fonts and colors there you can change your font size so it is a larger size. For example mine is set on 20. That should take care of it for you.
you might want to check out some of the helpful sites to get you going with firefox. I LOVE firefox and all the great add ons for it. Feel free to ask if you have questions and you can go to computer help forum here on GW too.

I learned a lot in just 2 minutes from this posting. Maybe I should take a class in computers. I learned most of what I do by trial and error.
