I've made it. And I've canned it. The longest I've let it sit canned is about 4 months. Obviously it doesn't taste like fresh - but it is better than the jarred stuff you can buy in the store. But canned tomatoes don't taste like fresh tomatoes either. I don't always have the time to make fresh lemon curd. I usually make it in January - when I'm getting my bulk citrus orders from Florida. There are quite a few lemon desserts I usually make at Easter, and I find it very convenient to have my home made canned lemon curd available. I usually can it in the 4 oz jars. I've never frozen it - so I can't comment on the difference between freezing it and canning it. I know there are tons of people on this forum who have 3 or 4 freezers, and thus always recommend the freezing option. But, like many others, I don't have that type of freezer space - so making fresh or canning are my options.

Dave1812, what you said about Bridget Helm may be true, but then the same could be said about men who come on so strong on the web that they label anybody's complaint as "total BS". Do you talk to your mother that way? How do we know you're not just a troll paid to defend the manufacturer? I happen to know that Bridget is right. Some of these HE washers do retain a puddle that one can't reach. I have a Samsung HE front loader with the same problem. Wiping out the tub and the puddle in the seal with an old towel won't cut it. It stinks of mold even when we leave the front door propped open. SO, I can totally believe that Helm had a problem. Our Samsung has a small drain hose in the lower left corner that's intended for use when clearing out the adjacent lint filter. The label says to clear the filter once a month. Haha! Better slide a cookie pan or some other flat tray under there when you unplug that hose because more than two cups of water will pour out onto the floor when you pull the plug––and water will continue to dribble from both the drain hose and the pan for quite a while after. A well-designed appliance would suck this water out into the pump and down the drain. Failing that, it should provide its own fan. But no washer should require the customer to drain it every every single wash day. That's bogus engineering, creating a new problem, where old tubs had none. And that's just the water that I can drain. There may be other nooks and crannies I can't reach––and I don't know where you're at––but this ain't Arizona. Two cups of standing water is plenty to get mildew going here, and once present, even bleach loads or vinegar loads won't take it away. Bridget may have overstated the case a bit wondering if all HE washers are this way. I don't know. But after paying hundreds of dollars for a turkey? I'd say she was entitled to vent & seek advice. Also, this WF210 Samsung front loader boasts a super-fast spin so that clothes dry quickly. Our experience is that you can't use it on any flat square cloth, be it a napkin, hankie or queen-sized sheet. The high spin (and possibly the angled tub?) results in hard pleating or rumpling along all edges. These pleats are spun in so hard that even tumble-drying and ironing won't eliminate them. Clearly, Samsung rushed to market with a bad beta. Would daily hand-draining & a fan & occasional bleach loads help? I suppose. Should an "automatic" appliance require so much care & feeding. No.

OMG I have no idea on fragrance! I just happened to be visiting Mom a few months before she passed, and saw it blooming so took a pic. I don't think it had bloomed much over the yrs. My dad was a tightwad and wouldn't let Mom water hardly at all. Their lawn was always brown by summertime. When my niece moved in yrs ago after he passed away, she kinda kept the flowerbed cleaned up and watered, so the few roses that remained began to perk up a little. Most had died back to rootstock tho. Except for this one and my massive SPICE TWICE rose that had been a test rose back in the 90s. I gave Mom a bunch of my roses when we still lived in the mobile home park because I ran out of room and was trying new roses. I always knew I could come back and get cuttings. I just wish I could remember the name of this one. All I know is it was a "Smooth" rose! This pic is awful. It looks like the rose is more of a lavender-pink on white, but as I recall, I believe it might've had a little faint bit of either yellow or apricot in the center. And seriously... I seem to remember the name being SMOOTH ANGEL. But I just don't know. I certainly hope at least some of the cuttings I took will survive and possibly bloom this yr so I can see what it is. I'm sure the new owners would let me come and get more cuttings. They were next-door-neighbors.

Oh, that's pretty, and so is the faucet! myersamyl, you sound just as I did a few years ago. We bought a used, polished carrara mable-topped dining table, and my late husband modified the base to make an island/work table. I honed and hand polished the top to a silky, satiny sheen. It's never been sealed, and it has no stains. My grandson once spilled a tube of red drink powder on it, and even that didn't leave a stain. He's managed to get blue ink on it, which came off with a poultice, and IIRC, there was also an incident with a yellow marker. I took care of the stains right away, but there is a deep etch where he left his metal lunch box (vintage Ramones) setting on the counter overnight. Leaking fruit juice left a large etch, with a deep 'crease' where the rolled edge of the metal reacted with the acid in the juice. I polished out the etch, but the crease will be there forever--at a certain angle it just looks like a bad seam. I have a few star dings--one has my name on it, where I knocked a claw-hammer off a paint can on which I'd carelessly left it, and a few more where one of my DDs dropped a handful of hematite 'chatter stones' she was juggling, while she sat at the island. The first year or so, I polished out every little etch with a smooth sanding- sponge, but I've relaxed. I don't think I've done any maintenance since the fruit juice debacle. We've made a million pfefferneuse cookies on that slab, lots of arlettes, puff pastry, pie crust, bread, pizza dough, and noodles. Maybe some day I'll re-hone, but probably not. I still love the marble, and as you have heard, it has stories to tell of my loved ones--someday I hope I'll be able to show a great-grandchild where his dad left the leaky Ramones lunch box. :)
