Pharmacy had a question for me

I was recently in my local drug store which will remain nameless and was told that they wanted me to fill out a questionaire as to why I never had my prescriptions filled in their pharmacy. My response:

As a matter of fact we did have our prescriptions filled here for many years, up until approximately 2004. We did so because XXX is the closest pharmacy to our home, actually within walking distance. This was in spite of the fact that every time we brought one in we were told that it would be two hours before it was ready, and on many occasions we would have to wait even longer when we returned. I can understand that sometimes a store gets busy and that there are delays but I'm saying EVERY time, even when the store was virtually empty of customers.

The breaking point came when two of my daughters were sick at the same time and I brought in two identical prescriptions from our family doctor for them. Two hours, I was told. I returned two hours later to find that only one prescription was available. When I informed the technician that there should be two they looked high and low for the other prescription slip and could not find it. I can only assume that someone neglected to see that they were for two different patients, thought that one was a duplicate copy and threw it away. If you make a mistake like that it isn?t much of a stretch to think you might also mistakenly distribute the wrong medication or dosage as well.

After that day we began having out prescriptions filled at YYY Pharmacy even though it was farther away. What a difference! "Would you like to wait?" is what they would say, and the prescription would be ready in as little as five minutes! We continued to patronize that store until YYY was acquired by XXX and the store at that location closed. Now we get our prescriptions filled at the ZZZ even though it's even further distant. While they are not as fast as YYY was many times a prescription is ready within fifteen minutes and if I'm told to come back it's never more than an hour - plus it's ready when promised.

I continue to patronize XXX for non prescription items because it is convenient location wise, but they've permanently lost me as a customer for prescription drugs. I'm happy with ZZZ and see no reason to change.

Anything like this ever happen to you?
