I have the model Elux Icon that just preceeding this new model. It looks the same as the new one (same burner sizes) etc, except it has the stainless steel trim around it and also a stainless strip between the touchpad and the rest of the cooktop. I tried a 5" pan on the 10" burner and the hob recognized the pan and heated it. If I remove the pan the display flashnes F-2 (2 was the setting the burner was at) if I replace the pan within 3 minutes, the "F" disappears and the pan continues to heat on the setting it was at, (2 in this case). I also had earlier taken my largest Clad Pad ( Emeril 10" bottom or so) and put it on the smallest burner. I had added a little water to the bottom of the pan, so I could see the bubble pattern--(and hence the heating pattern of the pan), At first (1 minute or so) I could see the bubble pattern that was the size of the burner (5") in the pan, but soon the bubble pattern had spread to the complete bottom of the pan-----so I suspect how evenly the bottom of the pan heats, has more to do with the construction of the pan, than the size of the burner(I would not expect to see a solid stainless pan do as well as far as even heat distribution goes (The clad pans are layers of copper, steel and aluminum and copper and aluminum are better conductors of heat). If you watched the water boiling contest that Mojavean & I had, You will see that the cooktop is completely silent either on boost or the lowest setting. It makes no clicks at low settings, nor so far have I found a pan that hums or buzzes on boost, and the fan, if it ever has come on, I have never heard it---maybe if you boosted several burners at the same time, it would. As a practical matter We never use boost as the thing heats so fast , even without the boost. Usually we just set the control at what we know will be a decent boil--without the danger of boiling over and leave it. If We gonna simmer we just set it at 1. As other folks have said, cleanup is a breeze and usually we put paper towels under the pots so that makes the cleanup even easier---course ya woulnd want to do that if you were stir frying or Woking as that could get hot nuff to ignite the paper, Nor would you wanna use a high setting boiling something and leave (with the chance you might not return before the pot boiled dry. I've been thinking about this a little after my original contribution. I still stand by the post. If you are greatly concerned about password hijacking why not just handwrite the passwords and store them however you wish. There is no band of marauders going up and down the street breaking into homes stealing passwords. The key would be to identify to what they belong to, but do not include any user names or account numbers with the passwords. Sites readily have the policy of sending your user name to your registered e-mail address if you forget. A forgotten password concern varies from site to site with different approaches. I share with you now that I have all my passwords, two pages worth, in a binder here on my computer desk. The non-financial even include the user names. I haven't lost a night's sleep over it yet. Mikie, I agree whole heartedly with you. Security and the steps you take to protect yourself are important. However, I do get a little tired of the " big brother" and the "sky is falling" mentalities. DA

yes Casi the pandigital takes the epub format it can not read the kindle format unless of course you have installed the kindle android app onto the pandigital. anytime you get any book from amazon you have to use your amazon account so you have to be logged into your amazon account that is what it is asking for , even though the book is free it will go through the transaction just like you are buying it but the price will be zero, they will also email you to your associated email and provide the "bill" copy. You can use a program like calibre to change the format from kindle to epub and use it that way. Many times barnes and noble have the same free books as amazon but they are already in epub format.

yes we are both enjoying them, it is a good additional reader for me and is my husbands first. It is so light weight compared to my PDN it is very easy to hold. I have added some books on the SD card also. For $49 for us it was a worthwhile purchase. I do not know if they will re-run that sale price or not, I told a friend about it and he found a CVS with several he bought all of them to give as Christmas gifts.
