Hello John, I was wondering if you still had that titanum seedling, and would be interested in Musa Basjoo pups. I have over wintered this rare banana in zone 5 Poughkeepsie New York for two years now. It would grow very well in zone 7. You can occasionally find them on eBay, usually for a pretty steep price. Sadly, I've never seen any of the KG hybrids at the online specialty nurseries, but then again, I don't look too closely at Aloes. The best way to get your hands on them would be to move here to SoCal and attend the local plant sales, which always have at least a couple varieties... J

It takes approximately the same amount of time for (nearly) all the worms to migrate into the material on top of the screen as it did for the initial layer of bedding now beneath it to be ready for harvest. For most folks this is between two and four months. It is the one down-side to the forced-screening harvesting method; it takes a while to get your first batch of finished material. As to what do to with the castings once they are harvested, first and foremost, know that TEA DOES NOT REPLACE CASTINGS. Research shows that the most broadly beneficial and long term impact is produced by applying the castings themselves directly to the soil. In established garden plants this is accomplished by covering the soil inside the plant's dripline with a 1/4 inch layer of castings and scratching it in, or by spreading the castings 1/4 inch deep inside the dripline, then covering them with a layer of the organic mulch of your choice (compost, grass clippings, shredded leaves, etc.). How often to do this depends on the characteristics of the castings, the plant and its needs, your soil type, your climate, etc., etc. Some apply castings only once during the growing season, others monthly. The variables are too numerous and the research too scarce to be able to make definitive statements. This is your opportunity to do your own experimenting and see what works best in your particular situation! Kelly S

Thanks for the sweet comments y'all. I am very happy with the cabinets. It made my Christmas all the more sweeter! I did not go out the house today, taking a break from the everyday thing. The GC called me today though and said he was on his way to go pick up all the sinks and toilets!! GASP! Dare I say we are getting close?!?! He also picked up all the door hardware since we had a bit of problem this past weekend. I am of course second guessing the door hardware now after going and looking at a friend of mine who is building also. Her house is completed and it looks very nice. She started a month or so after we did. They have been pretty much done for a month with just little things being done. I have to say her house was beautiful but walking around and looking at the craftsmanship I am VERY happy with ours and I am so glad the GC waits on his subs. I am finding out it is worth the wait :-) Amy - you took the words out of my mouth. Watching DD and DH was so nice. Better then nice. They are like two peas in a pod and he simply adores her. He told me once he never thought he could love someone else like he loves me. I thought that was the sweetest thing he has ever said!! She was so excited and told her uncle to look and see how big her back yard will be. It sure hit me at that very moment how it will all be worth it in the end!!!
