The Kitchen Table

Hello again, and pic. of my recent project

Once again, I've been gone from the Table for far too long. Thanks, Cherryfizz, for missing me!! :)

I've been super busy. For 14 months, I was literally doing two jobs at my office. I knew we were going to do a complete software conversion, and I didn't want to train someone on a "dead horse," and then have to train him/her again, while I was learning the new program AND implementing it throughout the office. I hired someone in September. She's working out great, but I'm still far from being caught up. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

I've also been taking a stained glass class one night a week. Here's a project I finished earlier this month. It was a rainy day when I shot the pic, but I was donating it to a charity auction that evening and had to shoot a photo before I gave it away. (DH just finished building the frame that morning, as I'd just finished it the night before!)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone; I promise I'll catch up reading all the posts very soon. I'm **supposed** to be working with my husband today on his business.

Hugs,

SadieSadie

Hey, thanks everyone! You know, it is so nice to know others whom have an appreciation for these types of plants like us or even care enough to express concern for my health. Funny how you find more of that here than here at my home. Jodi: It is so nice to see you! What an honor to have you stop by. Thank you so much:-) Hey Robert. How have you been? How are your plants doing? How is your Bruns? Boy, do you have an eye for Hoya. Yes that is exactly what it is and I did get it at Logees's. I have had it for two years this summer and it finally flowered. It smells more like a chocolate than vanilla. That Alba I got from Logee's when it was only six inches high last year. I LOVE it! I am so sorry about your petunias. Oh, the smell is sweet and heavenly! Kemistry! You are way too funny. I thought you would of had one by now.lol Musa: Thanks so much. I like the Alba but it's fragrance is a bit disappointing. It does have the strong sweet smell like the parent plant had. It's ok though:-) A real must, right?lol Olympia" Thank you and thank you! The key is a good draining mix and watering with fresh water. I think they hate tap water on a regular basis because of the salts in it and I feed heavily and regularly! I don't expose it to full strong sunlight but under a tree or under a bug screen in the greenhouse, and I never let a strong wind get to it. I hope this helps:-) Again, thanks everyone. It is so good to see you all again! I do miss Butterfly these days. I wonder how she is doing? Mike

Thank you both for responding! Yes, mich, you too. Your answers change my statistics a bit: now my analysis will read something like, "X% of members are female, X% are male, and one is a smarty-pants." ;-) Thanks again to everyone (off-list and on the forum) who took the time to help me out with this. My final project is due today, and I now only have one exam for another class standing between me and an A.S. Woo-hoo! Happy Holidays, everyone! Diana

Moni, everything you do looks good. Which reminds me, it must be time for you to post more pics of your gorgeous grandchildren. Susanjf, thanks for pointing out the pyramid corners. I love mission furniture, but hadn't made the connection. Now I know why I was drawn to the footstool. Jasdip, my furniture improvement efforts have been spotty at best--but I keep trying! Nicole, your mission (even if you don't choose to accept it) is to create a little rug for your master bath (and post pictures of course). Thanks, everyone!

Wonderful, beautiful! I've all ways wanted to learn stained glass. Whenever I'm at a craft show I look at glass items and wood items, 2 things I can't do.

Ohhhh....that's what my husband wants to do....take a class in this. His dad is retired and living in Baja mexico and is really getting into this. DH was quite impressed and would love to tinker in it now that his back is better. That is beautiful! Great job! Now I may want to try it!!

Thanks, everyone. It's not hard, really. The pattern came from a book for beginners.

And if you take a class at a studio, you get to use all their tools, etc. Mine even provides the liquid supplies and scrap glass. All I have to buy are the larger pieces of glass and solder.

Hey, if I can do it, anyone can! I'm not the most patient person in the world.

Hugs,

About time you showed yourself Lady! I've missed you but you do have a good excuse - I guess...... I wasn't here for awhile either but now I am back.

Love your stained glass picture! I signed up to take classes a few years ago and before the doors opened up the shop folded. I was very disappointed to say the least. LOL I used to collect small stained glass pieces to hang on the pane of my windows but I broke them all - now the ones I have hanging are plastic (but I don't tell anyone that) LOL

I hope you won't be away again for long.
