With just the two of us, things will be quiet and simple. We have a small turkey and will have Stove Top stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and some pumpkin pie.

I actually wanted to cook, but gave son the options of a homecooked meal or The Wynfrey for their traditional Thanksgiving brunch. I lost :o)

So it will be me, son, his new love and my grandson.

This is the first time in many years my son has not made the 6 1/2 hour drive for Thanksgiving. He did tell me this summer that he wouldn't be coming because on Friday there's going to be a class reunion of sorts and he wanted to go to it. I'm thankful he didn't plan on coming because while the weather here is just going to be a bit rainy, the weather he would encounter on the way here would be snowy. Traveling during the holidays is scary enough without having to do it in bad weather. Looking forward to everyone callingâ¦.that's good enough for me. Glenda, enjoy the time with your son and Parke, Jr.

There will be four of us this year! I haven't met her but grandson spproves of her :o)

She and son went from grade school all the way thru high school. Just didn't run around in the same group. They reconnected recently at their 30th high school class reunion.

How great. Keeping my fingers crossed that you love, love, love, her! My son has a new, well not so new SO. They've been going together for about 2 years but I've never met her. They're coming around New Years. I'm looking forward to meeting her.

Adding my wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all the others! I am cooking this year, my choice. DD is bringing pumpkin roll, and I think a pumpkin pie. DS is bringing cheese cake and rolls. If DD's SO's parents come they don't need to bring anything. They have hosted us several times, and only had me bring something small.

We'll be doing our usual trek out to my sister's place in Massachusetts..... always a traffic holdup at Thanksgiving, so will likely be a 5 hour+ drive. I have to finish getting packed and ready... She's a cooking/baking phenom so whatever I bring there will already be two or three of the same there. I'm keeping it easy on myself this year and just bringing cranberry sauce, gluten-free brownies, and lots of her favorite wine -- because they don't sell it in Mass!
