DH realizes how great disappearing wallpaper looks and has encouraged me to tackle that next. I need my fingernails to grow back first. Chris-I checked out the rustoleum. Yes, this a possibility. thank you. Arsy- When I get back from my business trip I will post pics of the space and you will laugh uproariously at the hideous wallpaper. Lukkiirish- I checked out Martha Stewart. Pretty colors. Truly pretty. Now what??? help me I am going to keep the wood as is. Because I have another bathroom with the exact same wood that I am going to stain darker a chocolate color. DH is on board with this. I found an inspiration pic and of course the above pics helped tremendously. Thank you for your photoshop and for your own bath pics. I went to Khols today and found marked down these bath rugs. I have no idea the quality but the fact they are a 100% cotton appealed to me and they were super cheap. I also bought matching towels in the light sea green color. Then after I went to HomeDepot. Light fixtures were butttt ugly. I can not see spending $100 on something I only tolerate. I am going to search on line. What do you think? Which paint looks better with the cabs? (Stupidly I picked the colors up before writing them down... I think it is in this order milk pail ML, rainwater, perfect taupe, winter's day and frozen pond Frozen Pond Behr Winter's Day Martha Stewart Perfect Taupe Behr Rain Water ML Milk Pail ML The cabs look so orange in the pic they are far more yellow. Or should I chuck these all and go back to something more blue and less sea glass. I am thinking for the downstairs bath Black, pale blue and white will be the prevailing them so this bath more beach glass classic cottage look... Any ideas would be awesome. ~boxer

Good idea about the fourplex! As for our Arts& Crafts inclination -- we probably need to set that aside for resale purposes. The young families buying houses in our area don't seem to like natural woodgrain so I probably won't add more. We have lots already! Maybe I should say we are trying to get away from the old Pottery Barn look to something more contemporary. The only light in this room is the one over the sink. The ceiling is the typical tract house ceiling. I used the light green version of these large format tiles in my kitchen and totally love them -- they look like etched glass even tho they are porcelain. The photos don't really do them justice, since the depth of the glaze is not picked up by the camera. The oval mirror covers a hole in the drywall, which will be repaired when the wallpaper is removed. Maybe that's where we should put the handtowel hanger..... And we don't know what's behind that big flat mirror. I suspect pipes run through that space to the bathrooms above, preventing a recessed cabinet. But if not we could even use this one (from the Kohler Archer line like the toilet):

Just a small update, I added this painting as a transition piece from the wallpapered entryway to the living room. I feel the coastal scene, is not only calming, but also compliments the cranes. I have ordered a taller, midcentury entry table in place of the antique chest and I ordered a floater frame for the painting. I think that will complete the look. My daughter's came from TARGET!!! She is a huge DIY'r and had planned to cut a terrazzo pattern with her Cricut machine. She came across these offered by Target in the exact colors she wanted--sooo much easier than the original plan. It took HOURS because each piece is individually placed--so no seams. Again the longevity/quality has yet to be tested as it is only a month old. Never heard of wall paper liner. That would have come in handy back in the day after HOURS of scraping my mom's sand paper texture and it still bled through our wall paper job. I was wondering if there were a sealer/poly that daughter should now apply that would help it all stay put?
