workinprogress, is the new season starting tonight? My dd and I have borrowed and bought season 1 and 2 on disc and been absolutely addicted the whole holiday (I'm now desperately trying to get all the work done, I should have been doing while watching.) I feel out of the loop though about what is airing real time. I thought season 1-3 had already aired and season 4 was now airing. Am I totally wrong? Help! I want to start watching on tv, but we are still halfway thru season 2 on disc. I think I need 3 more days of holidays.

Oh, I agree that the dialogue is sometimes difficult to understand. I used the closed captioning. I don't know if the CC is dependent on how you get your tv signal. We have DirecTv satellite. Phyllis, could you watch (re-watch) it via the internet on the Masterpiece website? Sometimes I do that in addition to watching on tv, to understand better what is going on... especially at first to sort out all the characters. I think those who didn't see the first seasons' shows would get more out of the current season by watching the previous broadcasts (if it's still available). One line I didn't catch was when Matthew's new fiancee' Lavinia & Lady Mary's beau Sir Richard were discussing something???? outside & were "caught" by Lady Rosamund. Designated Survivor, Pitch, maybe This is Us, 24:Legacy, and I started watching Quarry (so far, so good). The returns of Secrets and Lies, American Crime, American Crime Story (NO/Katrina), Prison Break (!). I also started the first ep of The Good Place, I like Kristen Bell, and I don't like many sitcoms. I probably won't watch Bull. I kinda thought the premier of NCIS dragged. And my usual reality competition shows, Survivor, Amazing Race, Top Chef, Project Runway, and RuPaul's Drag Race (congrats to RuPaul on the Emmy!).
