I just bought my son the Wii fit...yes, it is hard to find. You just have to keep looking and hope you run across them before they are gone...which I did. I got mine at Wal-Mart. Target had them in last week's ad, but they didn't get them in. The ad said, "No rainchecks" and it also stated that the date they were advertised didn't necessarily mean that is when they would have them. I don't know why they bothered even advertising because none of the stores I went to had them, and I went to one HUGE Target store and one small one. I didn't know you needed the mat for the Fit, but I happened onto one and asked about it and bought it....so I'm set with Wii Fit. You just need to check your Wal-Mart every day if you can do that. I'm thinking my grandson might like Wii Music...just keep looking and you might come across one...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. When I got mine, Wal-Mart had about four of them, but as soon as people notice that they are there, they are gone in a flash

we've had a Wii for about 6 months and love it. my dh has wanted one since they came out a couple of yrs ago but i'm not the 'gaming' type at all. boy am i glad we got this it's not like 'gaming' at all and it's a bit of physical activity too, especially the last 2 games. infact we just got two new games this week, isn't that a great way to encourage shopping LOL. we got jillian michaels game for the fit board and dance, dance, dance revolution 2 both great for exercise! we also have play, one of the group sports and the fit board games.

BTW i am better bowling on the wii then in person and one of my many co-workers w/ wii's made sure to tell me those skills do not translate at all to playing in real life lol. i used to play it sooo much my right side was sore all the time, i had to come up w/ another mii for left-handed bowling to balance out my muscles :-)

until the election we rarely watched TV, we play wii both just DH & i and w/ friends. it's a great way to get in some exercise and have fun! ~ liz

it has been very hard to find the console & the fit board. my dh went to a target hours before they opened on a sunday a.m. and was lucky to get one of 4 that store got, he was 3rd in line at 5 am. we previously befriended an employee whom we kept checking w/ on upcoming ads and supply and found out when they were coming. we could not get a fit board in person thou no matter how we organized, it had just come out for mother's day. dh who is a techy eventually downloaded a puter program that scans online sellers' inventory and automatically buys one when a seller puts up stock. it took 2 days for that program to get us one.

since then i've seen more than 5 consoles and fit boards at onetime at sam's club and occassionally some in targets. yesterday a.m. one of my GF at work finally got one, she's the last person at work to get one too LOL. it's for her kids for christmas and i'm hoping they open it this weekend lol ~ liz

DH brought home the Wii FIt just last week as an early christmas present for me!!! I love it!! So do the kids. There is some fierce competition here. I swear I am more toned already. I played one hour a day during the week, but only did a body test yesterday. I am real good at the yoga and lotus games. Working on the marble game-I got a 70! DD (11) is the expert at soccer and the penguins. DD(15) is unbeatable in the ski jump right now-grr. I MUST beat her!!! She is also the family expert at hula hoops.

We got our Wii Fit last week at a GameStop, and it was only $1 more than the sign at WalMart, (who has been out for the entire 3 months I've been looking). DH was checking out some games, and said, "I know this is a long shot, but do you have the Wii Fit?" the cashier said, sure, we keep them in the back, so if you don't see it, ask...

I got the Wii for my birthday last May, and got the Wii Fitness a month or so ago - I like it but in all honesty I don't have much time to use it. If I am home I am usually too beat to use it. Part of the problem here is we have to rearrange the living room to use it, which makes it a big production. The other problem is that alot of the activities on the Wii really irritate my left kidney which has been giving be quite a bit of grief the last few months.
So, while I like the Wii alot, I may or may not keep the Wii Fitness, might put it up on Ebay for Christmas, we'll see.

sjarz, I'm assuming you've seen the doctor about your kidney? My sister had some kidney pain and turns out she's losing some use of them. She finds drinking a lot of water helps with the pain.

I need to ask my son if he's still looking for the Wii Fit for me. I think we'll have to both look and let the other know when it's found so we don't end up with two.

Joe got a Wii for his birthday in June. Then we bought the Wii Fit. We love it and play it almost daily. We play tennis and bowling a lot. We've both reached pro status in those sports, in fact in tennis I am off the chart! My score is around 2150 and around 1400 in bowling. Joe likes boxing but I don't.
I used to use Wii Fit a lot but not so much anymore. I like the step activity, the balance board game where you have to get the balls in the holes and the skiing.
Is Wii Music any good? Maybe I'll give Joe that for Christmas.

Your sister is correct about the water and I drink lots, in fact can't get enough of the stuff. If I could figure out a water IV I'd get one in a second...lol.

We don't do video games in our house..but I have heard from a peer mom..that the boxing is the best workout around!!! LOL She beats up on the teen boys when they are over at her house..And she's super fit. And says she never sweated so much in 20 minutes then with the Wii boxing.

I don't play video games anymore (I was addicted to Zelda and Mario Bros years ago) but the company I work for makes the wireless chips that are inside the Wii so We have a couple of the systems around the office to play if we want. I've played baseball and tennis but did embarrassingly bad. If I'm going to do sports, I'd rather surf ... the net. :-)

Just came home from purchasing the Wii bundle with the 5 sports games and 9 other games, 2 remotes and two something else! That's the one and only gift family is getting. Bought it at WalMart for $318.99

Yes Glenda, I believe with everything that you've got that is a bargin..last Christmas the begining unit started at about that...It's about $50 less than last year..so with the extra stuff you got..that's a great deal.

consoles are $250 (have been for over a yr now), fit board/game $89 (when you can find one) play game w/ extra remote $40 other games $18 (sam's club) to $60 depending on which ones. glenda i think i saw that deal in their ad and it works out to the same price as buying everything separate but you get it bundled together which is nice since you dont have to chase parts down. my GF got the same package last weekend but right now the boards are in short supply, so it is a deal in that sense.

terri, i can not stand regular type 'games' puter or video i find them monotonous but this is all about moving while playing the game. my DH is an expert in the boxing game from the fit game, he's lost a bunch of weight and actually has muscles from doing it LOL. he plays for 1-2 hrs a day thou. we got jillian micheals fit game because she has kickboxing and advanced boxing amoung other workout games. my dh actually made a step lift to go under our fit board to lift it 3" like a workout step :-) we love ours! ~ liz

I woke up this morning with stiff and sore shoulders. For a brief second I wondered what the heck I did to myself. Then I remembered: I played the Wii with my son TWO days ago! We boxed, and it was the first time I boxed. OMG! I hurt!!! So around lunch time I was bored and didn't want to watch tv, so I turned on the Wii and decided to bowl. I "threw" the ball and yelped. EVERY TIME! LOL Ow!!!!!! It took a good two or three full games to loosen up the right shoulder. So, i grabbed the nunchuck and boxed to loosen up my left shoulder. So, I should be sore again in the morning. hehehee

I went shopping with my sister and neither Best Buy nor Future Shop and the Wii Fit. I want Wii Music so badly, but you need the foot board for the Music game. I WILL eventually find the Fit game.

DH was at game stop last night picking up a new game and they had several of the wii fit packs. I told him he should have picked one up because they are hard to find. lol.

Liz, I wouldn't mind having the Wii..but my husband has NEVER let the boys have TV based video games. He says "they rot your brain, and spread your butt!" LOL I was trying to tell him that we could all use the Wii Fit...He's not having it.

They do have small game boys..but those are mostly for road trips.
