Who's cell phone is umbilically attached?

About 95% of the people I work with would simply DIE if they didn't have their phones. They all sit in the breakroom and text or do whatever they do "Angry Birds" seems to be the popular game right now), and rarely anyone talks. I have asked a few what they would do if they lost their phone and they look at me like I asked to run over their grandmother.

I can't stand it when I am in the middle of a conversation and the person gets a text and READS IT WHILE WE ARE STILL TALKING!!! Even worse is when they answer the text! I find it extremely rude. I have a simple phone that I use once a night to call my husband and again when I am on my way home. Otherwise, it sits in my purse unused for months if I don't have anything going on. I had messages from 6 months earlier because I didn't know how to check for them the first year I had this particular phone (almost 3 years now, it is a dinosaur!)

Are you guilty of the umbilical-cord-cell-phoneism?
