I use a laptop; it generally stays on the couch. We have a desktop in the office, but basically never use it.

right now, on my dining table. But often it is on my lap, while I sit either in my recliner, or my papasan chair.

Desktop in its own desk in the living room. I need a new computer and kids are trying to convince me that I should get a laptop, but I don't think I want to be portable!!

I much prefer a desktop over a laptop. My main computer (with 24" monitor) is in my office; I have a desktop computer (with 22" monitor) in my quilting studio; a laptop in my bedroom; an old computer that has wonderful DOS-based games in the guest room; and an iPad in the kitchen.

We both have 2 laptops, notepads and smart phones.
Phones are in pockets, notepads are on a table, and laptops are in Living room (DH) and Den (Me) .
Wireless printer is in den.

My laptop is in my dining room always on a desk. With dial up that is the way it is. In my bedroom is my desktop. I use them both. No smart phone or anything else for me.

Laptop usually stays in the office. I use my iPad so much more than the laptop. iPad goes just about everywhere I go.

In my lap at the moment! I do have the laptop at the desk quite often though, as I like to be connected to my printer, which died a couple of weeks ago. We each have a laptop, I have a Kindle Fire, & DH has an Ipad. They usually all go with us when we travel.

In the den, on the sofa with my laptop on my lap. If I need to spread out more, I take it into the kitchen table.

I have a PC in the dining room (my computer), my son has one in his bedroom and my grandson has one in his bedroom, to use when he visits. My laptops are in the kitchen but are rarely used, unless my other grandson is visiting.

I only have a desktop, which is in my third bedroom that I've converted to a den. The dog door is in a window there so I can close my pup in the room with me so that he doesn't ransack the house while I'm on the computer.

It's very cozy here, as the walls are painted a dark burgundy. I have bookcases on one wall and the other wall has a futon and a wall of some of my favorite original art works. I love being in this room.

I've thought recently about getting a laptop, but probably would still chose to use the desktop. No smart phone, either. I usually have my cell phone turned off - only use it for outgoing.

Does this make me old fashioned, or a recluse?

I have 2 desktops with large monitors in my office, my netbook is in there and my husband's laptop at his desk. I have 2 other desktops in the office that I am not currently using. My ASUS tablet is wherever I am, currently in my recliner in the living room watching the Saints game. My Vizio tablet is at my husband's recliner, he is using it for his reader. My other various tablets are stored in the office. I have a wireless brother color laser printer in the office but I can use it from anywhere in the house with any of the devices including our cell phones. My phone is usually either charging in the bookcase or sitting beside me.
My TV is wifi capable so it can connect to the wifi in the house too.
I have a portable wifi device that is 4g/lte that goes with me a lot of the time so I can use my tablet online wherever I go. Always have it in the RV. My cell phone also has hotspot capabilities to use other devices from the wifi hotspot on the phone. The tv in the RV is wifi capable too which is convenient.

By far the device I use the most often is the Asus transformer tablet. Would be so upset with out it.

I have a desktop in my home office that I use most of the time. I really like a large monitor and regular keyboard. I have an iPad that I use for reading in other rooms, but I don't like web browsing or typing on it. I've never liked laptop keyboards.

Have a computer in living room. Also have laptop n iPad.

Laptop is in our third bedroom, which I have converted into a mini smoking "apartment'. Also have the double exhaust fan in the window that goes 24/7. Futon, TV, mini fridge, coffee table, all my filing, recipe folders, etc., I pretty much do everything in here. Hubby's laptop is next to his recliner in the man cave.

I can't tell you how many years I spent cramped in a corner of a guestroom with computer, scanner, printer, shredder, files while DH monopolized my kitchen with his mapwork, papers, but now I can say 'real office' ;)

A long built in desk and work space along one wall that I've assigned to him and his maps, field books, two free standing desks and I have one turned to take advantage of the garden window. My exercise bike. I added a television then put in a leather recliner so DH can watch television in here when I'm working in the evenings....that's bad and good, I'm not used to the sound of sports behind me but at least he's in the room :) When I'm typing and editing his field reports and notes, close enough to ask him what he meant to say without running through the house looking for him..... I appreciate this space so much, I've needed it for a long time.

My gigantic monitor desktop is in my sun-room, laptops and iPad are in the kitchen. No device is upstairs.

Right in the middle of my house, so I don't miss a thing. I have a desktop computer downstairs with two big monitors. They share a long desk with a laser printer, photo printer, and scanner. Upstairs I have a desktop computer in my bedroom, sharing an oak armoire with another photo printer.

I had a third computer for awhile, a laptop, but didn't enjoy using it. I'm a fast typist, and never adjusted to the keyboard. Plus I missed the double monitors.

Desk top is on a desk that is the "room" divider between living and dining...son#2 is usually on it..

Lap top in the bedroom...hardly used, unless Kamren needs a computer for school work...

Son#1 has his own lap top he keeps it on my dryer in his "music studio"/ garage/laundry room.

Hubby and I use our Ipads for 99% of our internet needs..sometimes our smart phones.

Boys all also have Ipods...and we have a wireless printer.

Right now, I am at the dining room table..on my Ipad...

Seldom use my laptop anymore. Seldom without my iPad on my lap.

Mine laptop stays mostly on the desk in the living room.

RE: Smoking. My husband has COPD from smoking. He has oxygen 24/7. He has a bunch of meds he is taking to help him breathe. He uses a nebulizer, inhaler and morphine. He also is on hospice care. He thought it would never happen to him. He was so wrong. He basically has no quality of life. After seeing him this way if I smoked (I don't) I would quit so fast it would make your head spin.

I alternate using the laptop in the kitchen or living room. I don't usually turn it on during the day except on weekends. If I am watching tv on it I sit it on a leather foot stool or on my lap on a cooling fan. During the day I mainly use my iPod to get on the internet or at night to listen to podcasts that lull me to sleep haha

I adopted the roomy desk in my younger son's bedroom. We are empty nesters, so I have plenty of room. It is a laptop, but I keep it plugged into the outlet. We have wi-fi for my connection to the internet. DH has a lap top in the bedroom, a large computer on his desk in his office, and an ipad the kids gave him last year.

Wozer, that is a lot of "computers" that some of you have.

I am old fashioned too. I prefer not to be connected all the time. No smart phone device, no ipod/pad.

Just an old desktop that I haven't gotten everything off yet, and the laptop, that is still on the dining room table today.

Where is my computer; its right in front of me! Oh, you wanted to know where in the house is it.

We have 4 bedrooms upstairs. Our kids are out of the house so I have taken over one bedroom as a den/computer room and library and my wife has taken another bedroom for her private stuff. We do not allow smoking in the house. That leaves us with a master bedroom and a guest room. My old computer loaded with Windows XP service pack 3 is in the guest room. I keep it going to run several legacy programs that I would have lost when I crossed the barrier to the new type of operating system ( running Windows 7 on a desktop).

My internet service is U-Verse supporting short range WI-FI. The equipments connected to the WI-FI are: 2 HP inkjet printers, 2 desktop computers, and 2 laptops. When my son comes to visit, his laptop gets added to the mix. Naturally, not everything is powered up at the same time, but I have tested such to see if there were any problems. My gateway supports 10 channels (devices).

Mine is a desktop in the spare bedroom. We've never really used it as a bedroom, it's always been my computer room. But I do have a pull out couch in here for company. I have a big window that looks out onto the back garden so I can watch the birds.

We have three laptops for the two of us, although one of them is dh's computer for work - he telecommutes occasionally. We use them all over the house; we do have several desks, but I hate being stuck at a desk!...we both have cell phones - no data or texting on them, but no landline. Doesn't seem worth the bother of having a separate phone...Right now we are GCing our house building project, the subs sometimes call me at crazy hours, so I am rather tied to my phone at the moment.

Smoking causes severe health problems that would otherwise be avoided. Smoking causes premature death.

I understand that quitting is difficult, I did it once myself. All you smokers, don't fool yourselves , just quit and hope it's not too late.

I have a desk top and it's on a desk in front of a nice window in the dining room....I need to be able to look out when I'm on the "puter".....Need to see what the neighbors are doing, lol....
It's also located right above the heater/AC vent so I'm always comfy while being noisy...

In my bedroom. It sits on an old kitchen table that has a red (folding) porcelain top. I have a room that will be my computer room, when the house is finished.

I have a desktop in my home office that I use mainly for managing my finances - downloading transactions, paying bills, etc. Otherwise I pretty much use my iPhone for most every thing else and I carry that in my pocket.

Mine is a desk top and is in my sewing/craft/computer room.I also have a couple kindles I use at night in the living room while I watch tv or cross stitch.I also have a read only kindle in my bedroom for those nights I can't sleep.

In the "office"....I have one emachine computer that I bought at WalMart a few years ago....that's all, no other gadgets except a basic Tracfone cell phone....I am a dinosaur....

At the computer shop, being fixed, after it came up with all-over red screen and wouldn't do a darn thing.

You'd think that it was a kid!

The operator says about sixty bucks if he fixes it, but no fee if diagnosis shows it's done.
