A new reminder for Christmas Card exchange

I think it's time for me to remind you to sign up for the Christmas card exchange, if you haven't already done so.

This is something that I've thought about recently as I've tried to keep up with posts while on vacation with limited internet. I have seen many new people here that I would like to welcome to the Table. However, it has been policy in the past, and I've promised again this year, not to share addresses with people who are relatively new to the KT. Please, if you are new, and would like to exchange cards with me personally, I would be happy to do so. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but some are uncomfortable sharing thier addresses with people they are unfamiliar with. Am I saying this right? I hope so. Again, anyone who is new, and would like to exchange Christmas cards with someone here, I will be happy to exchange with you. I personally use a PO Box, not my home address.

My Christmas Wish 2007 In recent years, my parents health (esp. my mother) has deteriorated. I recently moved 600 miles closer just to be with them. I fear this may be the last Christmas for one or both of them. They really LOVE Christmas cards! As I was rummaging through the attic to retrieve their Christmas decorations, I found Christmas cards they had received from 30 years ago. They throw NONE away. I was trying to think of something really special to do for them for Christmas and I came up with this idea. If you have the Christmas spirit, and want to do something nice for someone (who doesn't?) - please take the time to send my parent's a Christmas card. Christmas was always a magical time of year for our family and I truly want to make this magical for the both of them. Please! God Bless You and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Here is a reminder for the card exchange. I was out of town for the weekend, then found out that DGD is in the hospital on our way home, then Dr, appointments, ect, so I have not been on the computer. I have barely kept up with the important emails, and still have 150 to go thru! I know what I will be doing this weekend. In fact, today is the first I have been on the computer at all, anything for email has been done on my phone. Toni, I did get your message, forgot I couldn't just reply and did, of course I got the failure email! Sorry. No you haven't missed the list. One more week to sign up. I will probably separate the list into groups on Wed, night next week, and then send them out. I will be having the kids & grands Thurs evening for dinner. If we don't get any more people, do you want all one group, or do you want me to break the list in half? There are 17 including me. Let me know what you think. Tami

Tami, I think the policy is very wise, and you explained it nicely. Anyone would understand.

Just curious, do we exchange with everyone or just with one other person. How does this work?

I thought we out voted that last year...

I'm willing to let any of the newcomer have my address...

It's published in the phone book for everyone that wants to see it.

So If there are any that want to exchange they can be put on my list.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this post. We were out of town getting repairs on the motor home and did not have internet access.

Patti, I wasn't aware that there had been a vote last year, but I did have a couple of people privately question me on how I was going to handle it this year. I just did like I have when I did the exchange in the past.

If there is anyone new who wants to sign up, I will be happy to share with you the addresses of those who have indicated they are willing.

For socks and mimi_boo, email me with your KT name, real name, address. I will add you to the list. Approximately Thanksgiving weekend, I will divide everyone into groups. The size of the groups will depend on how many sign up. Usually between ten to fifteen. I will email the list to those who have signed up ONLY. I will not share your names and addresses with anyone else. Please send cards to those in the group your name is included in, then, if you choose to do so, you may send to as many others as you wish to. You must send to those in your group first. Many wish to decorate their homes with the cards, so we try to set a deadline of, say, maybe the end of the first week of Dec. That should give you about two weeks (with out me looking at a calander at 11:20pm!) to get the cards in the mail. Please remember that cards from the US to Canada take at least a week to arrive, and cards to Europe and Austrailia take up to two weeks to arrive. In one of my other posts on the exchange, I have postage listed from the US to Canada and Europe/Austrailia. Ont_gal kindly posted what postage is from Canada to the states. If it is needed, I can look it up tomorrow. At this point, after being on the road all day, I'm not even sure what I am typ8ing!! LOL So, please forgive any typos, ect.

Beth, welcome to the table. I'm not sure I have seen you here yet, but internet has been very hit and miss on the road the last two weeks. If you would like to participate with some of us, please email me thru my page. As you can see, there are several of us who would be happy to do exchange cards with you.

Did I miss anything? If so, add you comments or questions and I will get caught up ASAP! We are home again for a few weeks at least.
