Question about Magic Jack Plus phone

I have this phone. I bought it in May. Since that I moved and awhile ago I had to change my phone number. I have had some problems and chatted with someone on the internet . I type my problem, they type back about how to fix it and it continues until the problem is rectified. I need to reach them again and no place can I find the site. All I can find are live support who charge a lot of money. I want to get into the site where I type my problem, some technician types back and we continue a conversation like that until the problem is solved. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I do appreciate you help very much.

Thanks, but I don't want to talk to alive operator. They appear to be very very expensive. The site I was using before was all done by typing the question and an operator would advise you what to do. This type of chat went back and forth until the problem was fixed at no charge to the customer. That is what I am looking for and not having any luck in finding it.

Well Linda in your case it may not save you any money UNLESS you were thinking of perhaps having a 2nd phone line added this would do it. One thing I don't like about cell phones is that they're so small. It's nice to have a bigger handset when your laying about talking on the phone. And you can plug a regular cordless phone set to it. That's what I've done. Mom,, it works well .. no one can tell the difference in the sound quality.

The only thing I've heard about Magic Jack is that their support is pretty bad. If you get the thing up and running, it works fine. Remember that you need to have a computer up and running for Magic Jack to work. Computer goes down, no phone. There's another service like Vonage that supposed to be pretty good. Can't think of the name, something with an O. Lots of people are ditching land lines. Depends on your calling habits. Most telephone companies offer a very basic, inexpensive plan if you want to have a backup. Generally, they don't advertise them you have to ask and you'll only get a few local calls per month.

Below is the site where you can add caller i.d. and many extras at no cost, just take the download for it. I'm not sure you can do call waiting but at least caller i.d. will show you who called. Where did you buy your phone? Walmart? Radio Shack? If so you might ask them for help.

I bought the kit on line. After 2 hours of searching I did find the site I was looking for. However they wanted me to plug in someplace else and I don't have a receptacle close enough, so am to get back to them when someone is here to help me. I find that this particular way of contacting them has worked out well in the past but does take a lot of time.

Sorry, I can't help with the device you have. If you can't get it to work, consider Gmail phone for free domestic calling. Nothing to buy or even really to sign up for, it's accessed through any normal Gmail email account. You can use it or not use it as you wish.

Or, there's always cheap Skype calling or free Skype to Skype calls.
