Glenda. I don't know if it is preempted any where else tonight, or if it is just in MN. I wouldn't think being what a big rated show that DWTS, is, it would be taken off for a game, elsewhere. I hope not, for the DWTS fans. It is Latin night tonight too, my fave, but I just can't sty up till 1:00AM, and I don't have a recorder.

Just checked, and DWTS is still scheduled for here. No football game.

DWTS is on here in FL. Dottie, do you have cable? If so, you may have 2 ABC channels. We do here. On is out of Orlando and the other Gainesville. Different shows on sometimes.

Sorry Dotmom but "dancing" does nothing for me! I've said for years, Go Twins and take the Vikings with you! I'm tired of the billionaires wanting you and me to pay for a stadium for them and yes *my* county is paying for the Twins new playground. Tax the players AFAIC.

Although I like watching football, I have such mixed feelings about the Vikes. I'd like them to do well in a way, but if they do then they'll cry for a new stadium and that's a no-go for me. I could rant on this for a while but won't. Probably make something to eat and watch reruns of The Big Bang Theory.

I'm on cable and there's two channels for ABC. The one channel has DWTS and the other has the vikings KSTP or channel 5. The game is actually on ESPN. Not sure why they can't leave it with just ESPN. Right now they have a severe thunderstorm and the game is in a holding pattern. It looks strange with no people in the stands because they have pulled all the people out of the stadium.

That is one thing (of many) that ticks me off about sports, in Mn, at least. They had an enclosed stadium (The Dome)but some of the dumb sports people cried, we need to have and open stadium so baseball can be played in the open, fresh air. then they stole money from the tax payers, to build an open stadium (never mind that there are homeless people and families going hungry, major cut-backs at the public schools, this is way more important)....oh, wait, it's raining! The game has to be delayed, or gosh oh golly...it snows in Mn!! who knew?? Idiots!!

I'm with ya there Dotmom! I really enjoyed Met stadium. I went to a couple games a year for many years and they they cried "you can't expect these people to play OUTDOORS!!!! Then the University cried, "We can't play outdoors if they don't - get rid of Memorial Stadium!" Now they cry, we can't play INDOORS!! And the stupid school cries the Dome isn't on campus! WAAAA WAAAAA WAAAAAA

And isn't it hilarious? In New York the game was *delayed* because it rained a few drops. At the "Met" the game went on with a foot of snow on the ground! Spoiled brats. They probably were in the locker room... dancing.

It was delayed because of Lightening in the area, not because of rain drops.

According to the announcers, it was rain, there was talk about suspending it again because there was some lightning but whatever excuse they want to use... Point is the same and they get no sympathy from me. You want out of a dome, you play outside and quit bellyaching. Aa I think back I don't recall a game ever delayed here because of lightning, or for that matter, rain, snow or sleet either! LOL

They should have suspended it right before Favre threw that losing pick 6. Ouch!

Morning after.....I'm still ticked about missing DWTS, but I guess I'll see snippets of the dances tonight. BTW..the Vikings lost...of course, YEAH! BUT......tried to get the latest news this morning.....didn't it used to be News...weather... sports? Not here, It is sports, more sports, and some more sports, a little weather and if there is time, maybe some news. Even the morning paper, obviously nothing important going on in the state & world. Never mind that there is a war going on, never mind that there are 33 humans trapped underground, and a dangerous rescue is eminent, nope...Headlines and a picture that takes up most of the page, about football. What the He!! happened to the values of the world? All right, I'm done ranting (for now)

I know DWTS is the most popular show on TV. But sports are usually broadcast live. I don't know what's the solution. Personally, I would like it if all sports were shown on their OWN channel. the fans would be happy and ladies who like dancing or dramas could have their own. I keep a TV in a spare room and often watch in there while hubby lays in bed with his remote and his own TV. I've watched a lot of sports and find I like baseball, never acquired a liking for football. But hubby was happy the Jets won last night. Brett Favre was crying, for those who like tragedy.

We have DirecTV, but thankfully, I have a DVR. I couldn't care less about Dancing or the Vikes, but I was glad I could record Castle, which was on about 3 a.m.

3 AM? I was watching The Outer Limits! About a robot who got tried for murder and was innocent. Sentenced to dismantling. But he cheated the executioner - he ran in front of the truck coming to get him and was late so he was speeding and a kid ran out in front of it. The robot ran in front of the truck, grabbed the kid and threw her (always a woman!) to the arms of her father and was busted into pieces. I then watched Sea Hunt, Patty Duke and Mr. Ed. Not one of them danced! Oh and Mae West was on Mr. Ed. Was a good night for tv watching!

with all the stupid sports channels cable companys force on you, you wouldn't think they'd ever have to pre-empt anything to put a game on somewhere.

Here in Sierra Vista, our local radio sttion even gets into the act. Last Halloween, the national feed was telling ghost stories, and our @##!&! radio station interrupted to bring a highschool football game PRE-game program. Wasn't even the game itself. Boy was I p-o'ed!

Hey jannaz, I spent a month in Sierra Vista one week... just kidding, actually I kind of liked it down there and really liked it up in Fort Chewbacca, er Fort Huachuca. Beautiful area. Anyway, what was the feed on the ghost stories, NPR or something? I like some good ghost stories around Halloween. Some of the shows can be really entertaining. If they do it again this year I might tune in. It's interesting how sometimes the radio can be more entertainment than the TV. Kind of a retro feel. Still remember my mother talking about when she was growing up and they'd sit around and literally watch the radio when a program was on. I kept hearing people talk about it and kid about it but she said it was true, though she even laughed about how silly it seemed, but at the time, it didn't seem silly. Guess it was just how they did it in those days. Not that we don't do silly things these days... like having the TV on while surfing and typing on the computer and not paying attention to the TV... or texting someone sitting next to them, or calling someone on the phone, who's in another room!

And yes I'd have made a phone call I think on that one! Seems to me that haunting them about it is defined as a "moral imperative"!
