Depressing pillow facts

According to Parade magazine, "A study presented at this year's Healthcare Associated Infections meeting found that by the time a pillow has been in use for two years, about a third of its weight consists of dead skin cells, mummifying dust mites, bug droppings, and skittering live mites."

Since pillows vary in weights, I don't understand how they can make a statement like that. But even if there's only some truth to it, it's an unpleasant thought. All the pillows in my house are over two years old. And since the pillows I like (goose down) tend to be pricey, I can't see myself replacing them all that often.
