According to the Urban Farm calendar, you've missed the "ideal" planting time by a few days. I'd look for seeds at a good local nursery and see if there are some that mature earlier than others. As a backup, I'd get a transplant. I got one at Bakers.

well, i have finaly managed to get one pumpkin on my vine (shame, yes i know) it was pollinated 4 days ago and is grown to the size of a softball. The type of pumpkin could be big max, but im almost certain its an atlantic giant. Does anyone know how long it takes for these to mature??? Do you think it will be ready for halloween, or mid november?????? Thank you VERY much! :)

Thank you Bonnie.. Magpie...you are toooo funny! I can see them on your Mantel and they'd be real proud up there. I agree with the graphics on the old stuff. That era was really special with lots of special things. Today it's mostly 'Horror' stuff. but then again...Different Strokes.. As far as finding it all... over the years mostly on the Cape in the summer those little shops there have real neat stuff and reasonable too. As far as arranging them...I've always had a eye for decorating...Runs in the Family... When I was working at my school, I wore 'Many Hats.. Teacher and 'Decorator' for the School. From school openings to Holiday Events... that was the most fun. Karen...so nice that you liked my tree. Really... I am lagging..so many of you - steps ahead! If you were 'My Shopping Buddy'...we'd be in BIG TROUBLE!! and probably Homeless!... but we'd have a Grand Homeless Place!! lol As far as you gettng 15 - 20 kids.. Out here I'd be happy for that! At the local school, they have what's called 'Trick Or Trunk'. People register to come into the School Parking Lot..they decorate their car trunks...and have their Halloween Candy in there. All the kids parade around the parking lot, going from car to car for candy. They do this because it's so rural. Nice idea tho. You should NOT have passed up that skeleton and wreath...see I would get you in trouble! I hope they have it next week. That shop sounds like something I'd really like. Lucky for you getting those cloches..that's something I haven't seen here. I'll be looking forward to your vignette. syble... That was a great buy for that paper mache jack-o-lantern. You'd never find one for that price here EVER. I did shop at Hfabrics in FL. I loved that store. Sadly, many of them closed. They did have really nice things and the best sales on their Holiday things. I think that's such a nice tradition that you do with kids and parents where you live. Love it! If those witch shoes disappear.......I know nothing! They sure are cute as is all the rest. How could you not want to get them out and put them on display? I got most of my front porch done yesterday, but still have to finish unpacking so the inside is going to have to wait a bit. I keep buying fun pieces, but am running out of room where to put them, LOL. Miss October and Zelda are looking quite pleased to be shown off!!
