Yes,just last week as a matter of fact.DH always does the laundry and i fold and put away.Last week as i was putting it away,i asked him if there was any still left in the dryer,He said,no,why?? I was and am short 3 or 4 towels.I ususlly have one shelf filled from top to bottom and sometimes have to tug and push to get them all in,then the other side is the bath sheets and they weere all there.

We still don't know what happened to the others.We havn't had any company and there's just the 2 of us here!!!

kathi look in the washer, maybe they didn't make it to the dryer? I do stuff like grab something and use it for some odd use and totally forget I did it then drive myself crazy until I finally figure it out. Maybe your towels are out in the car or some odd place like that?

Patti, years ago, I opened my freezer and it wasn't working. I had a maintenance agreement and Sears sent someone out within an hour (this was the "old" Sears, that provided good service). When the repairman got there, the freezer was working fine. I insisted that it had stopped working and he wouldn't believe me. I told him I wanted him to open it up and find the problem. He was furious (it was after 9 PM). But, the customer was always right, so he checked it out. When it cycled into the defrost mode, it stopped working. By unplugging and re-plugging it in, I had gotten it back on. But the repairman said it would have happened again (probably in the middle of the night), and I could have lost my food. He apologized for doubting me, and replaced the defective part. Never had another problem, and that freezer lasted almost 30 years!

Keep an eye on yours, and if it happens again, you might want to call a repairman.

I lost a hearing aid today but I don't think I will ever find it...I was out and about. I hope I am lucky as Harry but doubt it.
I have a really old (we bought it used in 1974) and I have been fortunate so far.
Every time I defrost it, I am afraid it will not start up again.
People tell me I should get rid of it and buy a new one but I know they just don't make them as sturdy as my old Kenmore.

Carol, check down in the seats of the car and under the seats and between the seats and the console. Also check in any packages you were carrying and your purse too. You might be lucky!

When we bought our house we "inherited" an old dishwasher. We used it a year or so, and then it quit. My mom and dad had a portable one that they never used, so we brought it up here to use. The minute we unloaded it in our kitchen our old dishwasher began to run! We put the portable one away and, sure enough, ours quit again. We went to Sears and bought a new one. The repairman came while we were at work. He called late that afternoon and said that our old dishwasher was working when he walked into the house.

We kind of nicknamed her "Christine", as she was being carried out the door! LOL

Another strange one. When my MIL was still alive my Dh would call her (it would be hard to call her now, I guess, but I digress....) and ask how she was doing. If he hadn't called the day before, she'd say, "Oh, very well, I guess. Better than I did yesterday. I felt so bad that I just HAD to take half a Tylenol." He'd laugh at her and kid her that that amount would do him about as much good as shaking the closed bottle at himself. After she passed away occasionally we'd find half a Tylenol in the bottle - never two broken pieces, mind you, just one half! We'd look specifically for another half and never found one any of the times before we'd find the next one. Wasn't scary, we just felt like it was her way of letting us know that she was still with us.

Things sometimes disappear and turn up later in the exact place I had already looked a dozen times....but I chalk that up to my poltergeist. However, one morning my husband lost his glasses. He was looking everywhere and had me looking everywhere and he was getting more cross by the minute as he is prone to do. I noticed he was wearing glasses but I thought he was looking for his other pair, so I said nothing, I just kept looking too. Finally he said, "Oh! I am wearing them! "%$#%$#^@!!!" was my reply. :(

Can I make it until he goes back to work? I am starting to have my doubts!

Strange things sure happen, don't they. Carol, I hope you find your hearing aid--they're so pricey! If you were in stores, you might call them. Seems like a hearing aid would be something people would turn in if they found one.

Marilyn, that made me laugh! You know the saying about men? "Men, you can't live with 'em and you can't kill 'em". Ain't it the truth! Harry picks the wrong time to screw up. It's always when I'm trying to keep the house clean for company. Always! Three days ago he got something out of the pantry and dropped a whole bottle of teriyaki sauce. Sticky glass everywhere. This morning he dropped a glass which shattered all over the kitchen. I swept, vacuumed and mopped the floor AGAIN. That's 3 times in less than a week that floor's been cleaned. Grrrr!

I lost my 14K medic alert medallion months ago and after searching every nook and cranny two and three times over...as well as alerting every shop I'd visited that day...I gave up and accepted that it was a goner. I couldn't afford to replace it in kind so I ordered a similar medallion in sterling silver and relegated the 14K treasure to memory. I have to wear the alert medallion so I had no choice but to replace it.

A few months later when the cooler weather had arrived, I started to put on a pair of fuzzy slippers one morning only to discover to my shock and dismay that my lost gold medallion was inside the slipper. Apparently, it had come off over my head when I removed my PJs that particular morning and had accompanied my PJs to the hook on the wall in the bathroom...later sliding off into the slipper below. I was never so glad to see my old friend.

So...Carol...look lower in your search. Maybe your hearing aid took a similar trip.

I've told about this before, but the largest diamond in my engagement ring fell out, and I searched everywhere looking for it...knowing it was most likely gone forever, and I would probably never replace it because there are a million things I need worse than a diamond. Two months later, a friend came by and asked if I wanted to go to town to some of the thrift shops. I looked in my wallet to see if I had any money, and there where I keep the bills, was my diamond. It had evidently fallen out one time when I put money in there, and had stayed there and not fallen out for two months!

I called the Japanese restaurant yesterday afternoon, late after I realized my hearing aid was missing. One of the owners answered and due to our language differences she could not understand what I was talking about so she put her husband. He couldn't understand either. I think I lost it in the parking lot walking to the hardware store.
I called the hardware store and they took my name and phone number and will call if it gets turned in.
I guess I will just have to listen extra hard with my right ear until I can afford a replacement.
I will look again in the car and hopefully it will show up.
