measles outbreak affecting vaccinated

I just read a Google news item that there are some bad measles outbreaks in the Americas, and they cite Quebec. There, half of the measles cases are children/yoouth/adults who were vaccinated as babies. Now they are thinking that the timing is the problem because nursing mothers' antibodies are affecting the live measles vaccine doses given at 12 months, and thus negating the protection of the vaccination. More studies need to be done, but they are thinking that 12 months for the first dose could be too soon for babies who are nursing.

So be careful if you have a measles outbreak near you.
