I used to when the kids lived here~~now I a little bit for most holidays if I remember. Always do Christmas.

I did when my grandkids were small. They loved to come and see what all I had done. Later on I gave away most of the decorations. For a while, I decorated my dining room table. Had runners/decorations for spring, summer, fall, winter. Now I don't even do that.

Yes! Love to change things around a bit with each season. I have somewhat seasonal duvet covers, too. Spring/summer, fall and winter.

Excited that I can start dragging out my Halloween things now. I put my Halloween wreath and witch broom out today. More to come as we get closer to Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos.

My kids are grown and on their own. I still love to decorate and enjoy!

My mom always did, still does and I have followed in her foot steps. I don't go overboard, but just enough to feel the spirit of the holiday. My kids are grown and out of the house, but still expect to see it. I may go a just a tad overboard when I have grandkids :)

Yes, I generally do, but this year Bob, my DH, has just been home for a month following a stroke in May so things have been pretty sketchy. Just today my daughter is here and we have "drug out" several fall/ Halloween things but it will be sparse. I go more for fall than Halloween so it's rather easy to do both. I will take them away after Thanksgiving and hopefully some of my family will help me get out things for Xmas. It will be meager compared to what I usually do but I do it for me, rather than others. I'll just do the best I can but I enjoy changing things with the season.

Besides decorating for Christmas, I change items twice a year, at the beginning of spring and autumn. I change out bedding, towels, throw pillows, table linens, china and some of my decorative accessories. I add a few holiday-specific decorative items at Valentine's, Easter and Halloween. The wreath on the front door gets changed four or five times per year.

I am a little like Fun2bhere above, change things out a couple times a year. Bring out the bunnies in the spring. Dislike decorating for Christmas; DH does that. I love decorating for fall, love the colors, cooling weather, fun of Halloween, family at Thanksgiving. I'd like to fast forward through Christmas.

And the garden. I grew the pumpkins. The flat one is called "Cinderella." The others grew from seeds left from store-bought pumpkins. I have pumpkins and scarecrows stationed in other places around the yard too. I picked the pumpkins in July!

I've had fall/halloween stuff out for a month. But partly that was because DD and I gathered some friends for a 'rush the Halloween Season' craft party back then.

For Christmas, I have not only standard decorations, but I've made Christmas curtains for all my windows.

I redecorate my bath about 4-5 times a year--with shower/window curtains I've made; the room has some unusual built-in flower boxes, so I have silk flowers for each season, and different rugs/towels, etc.

And, of course, I change my door decorations seasonally.

Always for Christmas, and most of the time I try to do a little bit for the other holidays. Now that the kids are gone, I don't do nearly as much. We don't get anyone for trick or treat, not even the grandkids. So Halloween doesn't get near the decorating it used to.

Put out the Fall and Halloween stuff on Saturday inside. Have yet to do the outdoor stuff.

We have a large Halloween party every year, and usually go a little overboard in decorating. Other than that we don't usually decorate much, since we often go out of town for Christmas and New Years.

I decorated both entrances with Halloween/ Fall stuff last week. December 1st I'll put on the doors large Balsam fir wreaths which will stay till March 1st , then spring ones will take over. I don't decorate that much inside like I used to do.

I decorate for fall. I put little pumpkins on my fence posts, a fall wreath on the door and a big pumpkin and mums at the front door.

I decorate for Christmas, I don't know why. Hardly anyone sees it. Outside I put pine roping and lights on the fence, and a wreath on the door. Inside, the usual stuff. I am tired of the inside stuff and will soon cut back.

The only decorating we do is to put tons of lights on three conifers (about 8 feet tall) planted in our front bed. We also hang shiny plastic balls on one of them.

We can see that one from our LR window, which we enjoy.

Some years ago I figured out that anything I don't drag out, I don't have to put back. Thus ended the seasonal decorating, indoors and out.

I decorate for "fall', but not necessarly Halloween...don't care for the goblins, ghosts and such., but do pumpkins, corn stocks,and scarecrows....

I put my fall things out the first of September.....to me, when school starts, it is the fall season. I will do more decorating this year for Christmas than I originally thought. I sold most all of my decorations when I moved to this house....I just do not have a place to store stuff and I am too tired to drag it out and put it away by myself anymore.
BUT, in one of my weaker moments, I agreed last year (when only the foundation was done), to put my house on this year's Christmas Tour of Homes for this little town. It is a money maker for an organization, so I will get some new stuff and borrow from my girls/friends. I think they come to see the house more than the decorations anyway. My daughter has a complete set of German Christmas dishes, etc. that she has agreed to let me use.... I "promised" that I won't go all out as in the past, but will try to pull something together.......so wish me luck!

I used to go all out,decorating to the nines.Now I still decorate for the seasons.However i'm behind this year as it has been so blasted hot here.Finally is starting to cool off although they tell us that next week it will be in the 80's-90's.YUK

I don't do Halloween either,just fall.I need to go buy some new scarecrows for outside.

Christmas used to be my favorite,but now the kids and gk's are all grown and have moved away and all the great grands live out of state as well.Last year I gave my big tree to my dil,she still has my youngest gs and was going to buy a new tree,so I told her to just take mine.It's a lot of work for this old lady to put up and take down and dh never helped,we call him scrooge!!!LOL

So whatever I do these days I do for my own pleasure.

Always for Halloween and Christmas. Put my lighted villages up in little vignettes around the house. And Christmas we have 3 decorated trees as well as numerous other decorations.

I used to decorate a LOT when my kids (two daughters) were small. I bought a lot of decorations, but because they were cheap they haven't lasted. I buy new stuff every year, mostly posters, wreaths,ribbons. I decorate for fall (back to school), Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Spring and Summer. Maybe a sign or balloon for Mothers, Fathers,birthdays. I enjoy decorating. I have no photos to share.

When my children were small I did for each holiday. Then I also
learned what I drag out I have to drag back.....so that pretty
much ended my decorating. Getting to old n lazy now!!!

I used to go all out on decorating, but just too old to do it any more. We do put our scarecrow out in the front yard and will probably do the "Witch's Laundry" again. Hubby strings a clothesline between two trees and made a clothespole to hold the line up. I hang the witch's hat, dress, slip, stockings, bra, panties and boots on the line.
In the house I will be lucky to even put out the fabric pumpkin I made years ago.

We "may" do a "Santa's Laundry" for Christmas this year. It just gets harder and harder dragging things out then having to put them all away. Oh to be young and physically able again.

I bought my Halloween candy today, I know it's early but I like a good selection (in case we end up eating it, I want it to be good). Got fun size Snickers, Butterfingers, and Payday. Funny because sometimes we get no treat or treaters at all....
Still I have a few pumpkins in the window and a black plastic cauldron full of candy...my candles are pumpkin varieties as well (Yankee)

ABSOLUTELY!! I have a tote for every month and or season/holiday. Of course Christmas is the biggest...
May-Sept I have patriotic going on then move to apples then scarecrows pumpkins to Turkeys. Come January the snowmen morf to hearts then shamrocks and leprechauns,tulips to red white and blue again. Lent/Easter floats around so the crosses and scenes from Christ's life appear in and around. Living in the same "four walls" gets dull. This way I find I don't have the urge to buy new furniture etc. A scarecrow knick knack is a lot cheaper than a new end table!!

Fun2bhere--I put them in the shade on the north side of the house, perched on top of flower pots so they had good air circulation. They didn't get wet. I picked them so early because the vines were half-dead, covered in mildew and just could not stand the mess anymore. One was still green, but it turned orange.

Do you grow pumpkins?

Socks12345, thanks for the tips. I don't grow pumpkins now, but I think they are so attractive when used in autumn decorating. Unfortunately, it's so hot here (southern California) that I'm afraid to buy real ones because I'm afraid they will rot rather quickly. I'm amazed that you were able to preserve them for three months and longer.

My main seasonal decorating is outside except for Christmas. For fall I put pumpkin topiaries beside the door, a fall wreath, & mums down the steps. I have one of those window cling things for Halloween that looks like a black cat.

Fun---I'm in So. CA too! As long as you keep them in the shade and the bottoms dry, they last months. Also avoid any kind of puncture to the skins. Haven't you ever had a Halloween pumpkin still hanging around in Feb.?

Socks12345, I've had Christmas poinsettias hanging around for months, but never pumpkins...LOL! It seems like my house always faces east or west, so no shade there. I may give pumpkins a try next year just to see how they fare.

You can save the seeds from any pumpkins you buy this fall, just dry them. I leave pumpkins sitting on the ground until they rot, and then the seeds sprout next spring. The plants are kind of a nuisance and take up an unbelievable amount of space.

I remember how easy it was to grow pumpkins back in California.....never tried it here in Colorado..

Socks12345, I have some space where my garden is wild before it goes into a canyon. I might buy some pumpkins and let them rot down there as you suggested and see if any grow next year and survive the deer and rabbits. That would be a sweet surprise.
