What's for dinner 10/17?

I finally got the valances back up in the guest room. I was dreading it because the painter broke the tabs on one of the windows where the slot on the rod fits into the bracket so I had to rig it with picture frame wire. They're wide rods and wide windows, but it went a lot easier than I thought it would. Then I vacuumed that room and hallway, cleaned the ceiling fan in the Florida room and got that danged ladder back in the garage! Before I put it in it's place, I replaced a blown out bulb in the garage, too. Now I have Alton Brown's Swiss steak in the oven. We'll have mashed potatoes and cauliflower with it and black walnut ice cream for dessert, if there's room.

Bought and delivered to GS a new pr of badly needed hunting boots, and went to Zaxby's for bonless chicken wings.

Healthy oatmeal tonite.

Maple and apple cider glazed pork chops, mashed potatoes, sauteed apples, steamed broccoli.

NH Suzanne - I have bought crystals from eBay with much success. I don't have any hanging, but I have them strategically placed throughout my house. I put a beautiful piece of Rose Quartz in the Relationship area and a Amethyst Cluster candle holder in the Prosperity area. I have some large Quartz crystals sitting on the ledge of my windows over my front door. I couldn't come up with a way to have the crystals hang from my ceilings and look good with my decor. Water fountains are great too, but I hate the upkeep of them and figure I am better off with no fountain, than to have slimey water in them. John - I find that when I Feng Shui I also "clear" my mind and that is a big part of making things happen. I'm glad that things are looking up. Dee - I'm assuming this is another cruise - where to this time? Are you going for a Guiness World Record? I think you may be the title holder already. I have been busy with rehearsals for our annual Variety Show - as usual this is the time that I wish I hadn't volunteered (come to think of it, I didn't). But next week it all comes together and I have fun. I better get some work done. I have had a lot of pleasant distractions this morning and now I don't want to work LOL.

We bought an electric smoker off craigslist for $25. the other day.It was brand new,still in the box and hadn't even been assembled.DS wanted to try it out but looked in several different stores today for a brisket and couldn't find one.Either didn't have them or they were very fatty and expensive.No such luck today! Hopefully someone will have a good one tomorrow.He grilled burgers and dogs instead.They were good but I had my taste buds all ready for brisket!

It's 8 degrees here and breezy and we are on the verge of another storm. You all know how I feel about that so I won't say anything else! ;) Teresa I hope you and your DD don't get sick! Lots of colds and stomach flu around here. I have a roast in the crock, DH has to go to work at 5:30ish so I will have to run supper out to him. I am thinking to make it easier it will be hot beef sandwiches. Yummmmmm. Hope his is still warm when I get it out there! LOL

Hubby has been recruited to play in another band. He's with them for part of the afternoon and into the evening going over mutual songs they know and rehearsing. They'll be out pretty much every weekend playing somewhere. He plays in a couple of bands already so he should be pretty busy overall.

I made a big Greek salad (my version of it) for lunch and I had some of that with a cheese bun and one 2 of the leftover ribs from last nite.

Did 2 loads of laundry. Made a BIG breakfast, then made lunches for DH for the week. Watered house plants, filled the bird feeder....yada...yada...

Made Glenda's spinach quiche and marinated New York strip for grilling. (the quiche is in the oven):0)

A friend had invited us to dinner but then called to say her DH had a bad cold so instead of us going there she brought dinner to us! So we enjoyed a wonderful hamemade meal of stuffed shells with Italian sausage and meatballs! We didn't get to visit with each other but dinner sure was good!

grilled chicken breast, caprese salad w/ homemade mozz cheese, mash potatoes/gravy and NO artichoke LOL. dh forgot till it was too late and i knew i was going to have a good portion of mash potatoes and tomatoe salad first so i would be full anyways. only ate 3 bites of very tender chicken and i was full. ~ liz

I went to Jack in the Box and had a Deli Trio sandwich and a piece of NY cheesecake. I have been house sitting for a friend for over 6 weeks and this is my first night back at home.
